Hi all, I don't have much time but I just wanted to say I confronted the issues I was having:D and called CCCS. I did really get anywhere though. They said its Nexts fault for not cashing their cheques for 6 weeks and that theres no point in them contacting them, or Halifax who send me monthly scarey letters, as I have a review coming up.

    Got to go...........

Tonight is the night that I am writing to my creditors asking them to send me balances and for the ones that have not been sending me statements I am requesting a statement to be sent.

I am also going to ask ARGOs to reconsider stopping interest as I am paying £7.50 a month to them and they are applying £5.75 interest a month reducing my overall balance by £1.75 at this rate it will take 40yrs plus to clear this debt.

  • On the interest front guys I just pestered and pestered until they relented, I threatened the Ombudsman, etc and eventually HBOS sent all 4 of my accounts with them to DCAs, hence no interest.
If you look on dark side they say the way to get through to the creditors is to not pay and be a general pain in the backside, we clearly cant do the former but the latter.................
I am going to agree my 3rd Fand F after the summer and then reduce my monthly payments down from £630 a month to around £300-£400 and save, save, save. PP

Lol, may do that myself at review time! Has your bodyshop stuff arrived yet? Mine came today and I'm trying to remember that they were bought MSE style as presents and I've not to open any.....

    Hi Teds

Missed a parcel yesterday so hoping that was it, being redelivered Thursday. Am after the butter, my feet soak it up. Go on you deserve the odd treat!

Sorry not posting much, got quite a bit on just now but as Arnie says I'll be back. Well not to his wife perhaps!

    Have a good day all

    Hi all

My first little update since telling my parents about the nightmare debt and getting desperate about a job. The good news is I've 2 interviews down, another one in about half an hour and another one tomorrow. 3 of them are for permanent posts which would be really great. I know you all have everything crossed for me but keep me in your thoughts/prayers/blessings etc. I need everything I can get.

Also the first good news from one of the creditors I wrote to. Egg Credit Card came back to me. I was paying them £28 per month. I wrote explaining my reduced financial situation and had asked for the possibility of a write off (chancing my arm but the worst answer I could have got was a no!!). I offered a £10 per month payment and on the phonecall today they said they couldn't accept that but had worked out a payment of £11.38. How could I say no. It was closed to what I needed for now and less than half of what I had been paying. I just need to change my standing order. I am absolutely delighted. One down and four to go!

    Keep hanging in there.:T

Thanks Teds. All I need now is for the rest to follow suit! The interview went pretty well but like always, time will tell.

Just come of phone to them and had a good cry thought now was the best time to ring as I'm home alone DS is out a one of his club so didnt want him seeing me upset. The lady I spoke to was really nice so spoke to collections dept as because it had been over year they had to send this statement asked if I could pay obviously I wish I could but said no said to continue to pay CCCS amount and next month account would go back to collections and will reinstate original payment amount. Started to cry at end of call because she was really nice about it. Then had a good old cry by myself still am really while typing this will have a cup of tea and pull myself together before collect DS so glad got him couldnt carry on otherwise

    Hi All,

Sorry I've not been on. Been manic at both home and work.

I would like to say thanks for all your support so far. As suggested Mikon, I have looked through a number of previous posts and have discovered quite a lot in a short space of time.

Did also hear this week somewhere (think is was on the radio) that the question is being asked '' Why are creditors charging interest on interest ? ''

Just to keep you up to date, letters to my creditors are hopfully being sent today, along with me visiting Yorkshire Bank later to set up a new account, - fingers crossed

Thanks again for all your support, and you are definately helping me remove the blinfold.

    Thanks Tedsd,

Just to let you know that we had no problems with Yorkshire.

We managed to set up both a Current Account and also a savings account.

Letters being completed tonight, and then they are on their way via the fastest pigeon in town.
