A quick thanks to those who encouraged and comforted me during my recent wobbly:o
It's not as bad as it seemed (never is, I am a drama queen:rotfl:)BUT I am guilty of not opening a few letters immediately recently, only to find nothing to worry about inside. When I called next, they said to phone them once my CCCS payment for this month had been sent so they could reset the payment plan, but this still means I will need to do that every month. SO, I will get it all in writing to CCCS (via email) this weekend.
Have a good weekend!Paddle no. 12

Well, I've taken the jump and completed all forms for a DMP. ***Feel a sigh of relieve already***
Just waiting on relevant paperwork to come through, so I can complete the process.
A little bit nervous what comes next and how it works, but at least I have one foot on the train.
 Here's to a debt free future0 -
You'll be fine, just make sure you leave enough money to live on, DMPs fail if you can't meet all your regular payments. As Ted suggested make sure you have a bank account with a bank that you have no debt with as banks can and do just take money out of accounts held with them to pay debts with them.
You've done the hard part, read the paperwork carefully, get token letters off to your creditors and you are on your way!More than Two Years in

If you look through some of my previous posts you will find one relating to newbies on DMPs some tips and handy hints. One final tip make sure you have enough money to live on and remember the current economic crisis, things are going to get tougher and dearer in the future so bear that in mind. I did not and am struggling at the moment and will be reviewing my monthly payment next month, which I know will cheese some of my creditors off but I have to live.
On a separate note received my 6 monthly statement from Barclays Bank re my loan and still no interest has been applied which is good thank you Barclays. The only reason I am mentioning this is that Barclays did not respond or acknowledge my DMP offer/agreement at the outset and did not communicate with me regarding the DMP but they have stopped the interest.
Apart from that its been a quiet weekend.
Will be writing to all my creditors tomorrow telling them that I will be making a reduced DMP payment this month.

Hi everyone. Quick update as I know I have been quiet for a while. I finally did it! I had a meeting with my parents and ended up giving them, under persistant questioning, full disclosure on my debt. Imagine my surprise when it turned out a relief for both of us. I was glad to have my load lightened and they apparently thought my debt was much worse. To cap it all off they are totally behind me and agree that the majority of the debt is his fault. They may even eventually be able to help me with F&F's which would be really cool.
Welcome to the fold shy guy. You're in for a bumpy ride but no matter what happens, take a look around and you will find us all there with you.
Last little update is that I have 2 interviews tomorrow and an interview on Wednesday so here's hoping that one of them definitely comes through for me as they have confirmed that my job is definitely finishing in and around the end of May this year. I knew it couldnt last forever and I have been very grateful of the time they have given me already.
Please all keep your fingers, legs and toes crossed for me and I will let you know how I am getting on.
Hi everyone else. Sorry this is a short one but had a long weekend and need to get to bed early.

Cheers Mikon. First interview this morning was for a temp post with Blood Transfusion Service for 9 mths which would buy me some additional much needed time. Interview seemed to go well. A panel of 3 managed to interview me in 10 mins. That was impressive. Loads in for the job so will see what happens.
On to thinking about the next one now this evening. Thanks for all your love and support so far xx.:)Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k

Sorry not been on for a while but had some issues with the Charity that I am involved with which has distracted me for a week or two. Hopefully now things on track so that I can get my time back now.
Got our first letter from the letters we sent out agreeing to sort out an amount to pay montly to clear our debt. so that is one down and only another 8 to go. Those that I havent heard from I am going to chase this week as we sent them letters so they should be able to talk to me now as OH gave permission in his letter.
On a good note I have taken a the motto of MAKE DO AND MEND to my life and am loving it. Managed to alter my old bridesmaid dress to a lovely frock for a wedding, and have been mending clothes that I would normally throw out. Am so pleased with myself and have saved a fortune.MAY NSD's

Hi Mephitsa, everything is crossed for you to get a job sending positive vibesover to you now.
So after all this PPI news will anyone be sending the letters? Due to my lurking i was clever enough not to take PPI but re-consilidate about 5 times doh!:rotfl:
No other news here Bleeping card still playing hardball, still dreaming of F&F's and still deraming i might win the lottery if i ever do it.
Little pot of spare change is filling up nicely - especially as i can't get in it!! Also made £37 on selling clothes that i never wear anymore and also having been racking up the quidco which is another story to tell.
So thats me for now sorry for the blabbing just needing to share my debt free willingness today hehe.

Hi so sorry havent posted for ages have still been logging on tho. Now I feel really cheeky about asking for advice Anyway been on DMP since 1 april last year. Just received statement from halifax who now want min payment this month of just over £1k. They have also removed interest at reduced rate as well so now I am flapping big time. Not sure if it because I have been on DMP for year and they only accepted for that long (didnt hear from them at the beginning to confirm) I wouldnt care but the reduced rate they were giving me only took off £13 a month my debt. Has anyone else experienced this. I've emailed CCCS for advice but now I'm worrying that all the others will do the same. Well I'm off for a quick cry0
