Ellieseleven, Nataz, Chocolates (best name by far!), where have they gone?

Thats the thing with DMP's if they go well, you ain't got a lot to say. They just sort of drift along.

I am a strong believer that people should post on here when things are going well as well as when things are going bad. I like to read on some of the other boards about people who have completed their DMP and have become Debt Free it inspires me to continue to work towards paying off my Debt. I also think its good for people to read the positives of being on a DMP rather than continually reading about the negatives, the threats from creditors and DCA and the harranging from these organisations.

So what I want is everyone who reads this to post something about your DMP experience.

Got back 2 hours ago from a visit to a friend in Dallas who takes me to Mark Harmon's charity baseball game in Oklahoma City. Before I went Payplan were sending a revised amount of money to the preditors. 1st letter was from M&S saying as it had been a year a new arrangement was needed to be set up, so I thought I'd ring Payplan, before I got that far 2nd letter was from M&S accepting the new reduced rate for a year without interest, 3rd letter was much the same from them regarding the new lower payment on the loan. I was hoping the Barclaycard bill would have been there as I want to know how they will react to the reduced rate and they were the only ones adding interest.

Came back with new Converse sneakers for $39 instead of £39 and saved over £50 on a Clickfree for backing up my computer. Good deals all round and feeling relaxed. Friend is coming over for three weeks in July, am hoping I can find some good deals on days out. Found a good deal on an apartemnt in York and got the cheapest train fares when they went on sale already.

So DMPs should not be all drudge and worry, little treats keep us going on the long haul.

    Barclaycard

Have just informed me that my interest rate is to be increased to 1% per month.

This has taken me by suprise and ruined my day.

However I do have a letter saying that our agreement will last until Christmas. I will write, I will complain but this time it's going higher.

    Finacial Ombudsman.

    I could cry/scream/shout.

I am really upset about this.

E2 play them at there own game and reduce the amount you pay to them. I think Barclaycard reinstate the interest because the minimum payment is being paid. Barclaycard are a very strange company the positive side to this is that 1% is better than the 29% they normally charge.

Do not let them grind you down, your paying what you can.

Have a good weekend all. The only thing on my mind at the moment is that some creditors I have wrote to ie NEXT and OPUS have not responded to my letter different when we don't respond to them.

    Quick update

Just wrote a letter to all my creditors informing them that they will be receiving a reduced payment this month from CCCS as I have had some unforeseen expenditure. I have detailed the expenditure incurred. I have asked them not to re-instate interest. So I will have to wait and see what comes back if anything.

Whilst I did not want to contact them I thought just out of courtesy I should and CCCS said it would be a good idea so thats the reason behind it, also Professor Pat Pending told me 1 yr ago communicate with our creditors do not ignore them and you will find things run smoother. I have always taken that piece of advice and it has worked.

So thats me signing off for tonight not much happening on here today

    Bye.

    hi all,
Tedsd ( nice to see you on here more), Mikon, E2, Gibbs, PPP and anyone else

Just flying by sorry to hear some of you have been having a tough time and are reducing your Dmp payments, i'm sure it'll be just a short term blip for you all. Welcome again shyguy well done for getting on the boat with your paddle.

    E2 - and all
nothing to report on DMP apart from BC charging 3% interest, they told me, that was their lowest - so they're fibbing, if they're charging E2 1%. I still haven't got round to writing to them again. i need to call CCCS and see if i can reduce my payment to them as a threat to get them to knock interest off again. I wish they'd just bloody default me but they won't as i'm not in arrears or missed a payment  Any ideas on this one peeps more letters to BC, letter to financial obundsmen etc ? ideas on this one needed.

right off to do job application this morning

Have a good day thanks all:cool:
  • Morning All

Teds, role call was a good idea, thanks for doing that. Agree totally that it's nice for peeps to pop in even if only every so often so people can get the balanced view of life on a DMP. I'm sure we all agree that this place was our lifeline particularily at the start and these things only work if there is a critical mass of contributors.

E2 sorry to hear about Bcard. The lowest I managed to get them down to was 12.6%. M&S still charging me 24.9% so Bcard appear to be angels in comparison! Good luck with it.

PPP well done on standing your ground, Looking forward to the next MBNA update.

Gibbs and Teds quite agree re needing the odd treat. My feet are enjoying the body butter bargain. Just placed an approved food order with 10% off too. Can highly recommend them, particularly if you are able to plan, have saved loads on baking and dried foods over the last couple of months.

Gabs good luck with the application.

Went to see Jason Manford recently, now that was a real treat, yum yum yum.

Need to sort car and house insurance and try tap on some of the preditors to rethink interest charges over the next week.

    Have a good day all.
