Thank HH and Ted for the advice the other day.
Have cancelled all direct debits, although it seems that two payments got through the net this morning.
I think that a couple of companies may have got my letter this morning as Nationwide seem to have put a stop on my overdraft. Glad I took your advice and set up another account at Yorkshire.
Did ring CCCS this afternoon to double check the best way of approaching my creditors as they will not get paid by CCCS till the end of next month. They were extremely helpful and advised me to ensure that all direct debits have been cancelled, along with contacting the creditors to explain the situation and offer a token payment, even if it is only a couple of pounds.
I have got a feeling that my postman will not be my best friend over the next few weeks, but I think that I will try and beat the creditors to the chase tomorrow. Think its best to be on the front foot and honest.
I would also like to comment on how much help you have all been over the last week, considering i'm a newbie. My mind is starting to be a bit clearer.
Thanks all

Hi Everyone
Bad day for Preditors I am looking to reduce my monthly DMP payment to my preditors by £120 per month approx a 18% reduction. I am not sure how the preditors will take this but this is due to an increase in fuel, food, heating, car insurance to name a few. But to survive I need to reduce the DMP to survive.
Surprisingly I feel guilty towards some preditors as they have been sympathetic to my cause but I need to survive. Apparently CCCS have been inundated with people requesting reviews
So hey ho off i go.

I'm struggling with fuel costs but i'm going to soldier on, cutting where I can, to the bone if necessary. We shall see how that goes though.
I've no payrise again this year again so it makes things a little tougher.
Things are generally ok. I haven't heard anything from most of my lot. I get monthly statements from M&s and barc but apart from that, nothing. M&S anniversary is looming and I hope to God that they don't get silly and reintroduce interest. That would destroy my DFD.
Ah well, I keep on trudging along waiting for October which means 2 years left to go. And so will begin the countdown to freedom, hopefully.

E2 like you we have struggled over the past few months and this month sees us celebrate our 1st yr on a DMP. We have had very little hassle from creditors a couple send monthly statements others 6mth statements others have not contacted me. The only pain in the ar** have been NEXT who have passed our debt over to Moorcrap DCA but I have wrote to them and told them that they are in breach of UK legislation they do not normally respond to letters however I had a response within 7 days informing me that they had put my account on hold.
So whilst I have put off I have no choice it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage and it does extend my DFD but in the future I am sure I will increase payments when like you I get a pay rise have not had one for 2 yrs now.
DMP is a way out of Debt but its not easy and you have to have a strong relationship to withstand the tough times.

Hi everyone,
Yesterday should have been a day for celebration, if my first attempt at becoming debt free had worked out:o
I just paid the last installment to a loan I had with my mortgage company, which, for obvious reasons, was not on the DMP. Of course CCCS are aware of this and want me to call at the start of June to do a review:( I hoped I would get a months grace, wishful thinking:rotfl:
So, the plan is: I won't be adding the whole amount to my DMP payment. It's become a struggle this last few months with rising costs that I have had to cut out so much. I am even thinking ahead to Christmas, that how tight the budget has become. Also worried about interest going back on if I increase too much.
got to go.....Paddle no. 12

Hi all,
Sorry to hear that some of you are really strugglinig, makes me realised how disiplined we have to be over the next few years.
CCCS contacted me today to confirm that they had recieved all my details and that they feel that I should not have any major issues with any of my creditors, however looking through previous posts I get the feeling that NEXT may be the ones I hear from first.
DMP ready to start in June, all direct debits cancelled or changed from Nationwide to Yorkshire - So here it goes, and lets see what the next month brings.
Thanks to those who have helped me over the last couple of weeks getting my head round things.

NEXT were fine with me in the beggining but recently kept asking me to sign new credit agreements which I refused and then out of the blue I received a letter from a DCA acting on their behalf demanding full payment are they will take me to court. No you wont and you know it.
Good luck shyguy
