  • it was allied that sent letter to cccs stating account number was wrong. had a look on here at other forums and they seem to be a nasty collections agency. a few peeps have said to ask for copy of the credit agreement and that if they can't produce one then debt reverts back to originator???? we will wait for reply from cccs i think and if no joy will try this;)
  • I had a call from Barclay card, the rep said they hadn't heard from CCCS, claimed it would take CCCS a couple of months to be able to make payments and I should make a payment now...
I explained I'd sent letter...reference no...strict budget...unfair to the other creditors blah blah yadda yadda...

Usual stuff. I ended up making a complaint against Barclaycard (one of two) because they were constantly phoning me.

After a while the calls stopped abruptly and i received a sorry letter. Sorry but we are within our rights to contact you, etc, etc.

Be strong and let CCCS know that BC say they haven't received anything.

    it will settle down.

  • I'm guessing here, but if you have paid CCCS and have a CCCS reference number that is all you need to tell BC. Don't pay them if you have those things. They are just trying it on as a scare tactic. Do call CCCS and let them know and they should deal with BC for you. CCCS and other free organisations are probably snowed under with new people joining with this economic climate. If you have not paid CCCS or got a reference number, you can send a token payment of £1 and a letter telling them you are waiting to hear from CCCS.

  • My payments to CCCS don't start til next month, BC had already had a token payment from me this month. BC won't have heard from them yet as I only finalized things with CCCS a couple of days ago, the guy was just feeding me BS to get another payment. It's his job I guess, he said they would hold the account for a month to wait for CCCS to make contact.

I would point out that the Debt collection guidelines state that he HAS to put the account on hold for a month if you are seeking 3rd party help.

They really are full of it some of these banks.

And they are really getting on my nerves now. They feed everybody the same BS, luckily we have boards and pages like this to help people see through it.

No word back from Barclaycard yet regarding the reinstatement of interest.

It appears that BC freeze interest for 6 months then re apply interest at a lower rate than previous. i have also read that if your making a monthly payment of more than 1% of the outstanding balance then they apply interest. So when I undertake my review I will ask CCCS to ensure that I am below the threshold.

    Pay day tomorrow hooraay.

The advice you have been given so far is completely right. Pay nothing unless its your agreed amount through CCCS. As much as he states down the phone "If you could pay ....", your reply should really be "If you could ring CCCS. I'm afraid I am no longer able to deal with this". Hang up! That's the truth after all. Then contact CCCS and get them on the case.

Do not let yourself be hassled because they will make your life an absolute misery if you let them. So Don't!!!!

  • Things must be really bad. I take the magazine "Computer Active" and they have an article about CCCS. It says 8,591 people used its website last month; twice as many as in January 2010. They also say they are worried that with Government funding cuts more people will fall foul of fee paying sites because of the time they may need to wait for CCCS or CAB to get back to them. Those of us that started down the road last year may be the lucky ones.
