Hi everyone just a quick update. Not much to report except that the money is running out before the end of the month and it is look more likely that I will have to review my payments and reduce what the creditors get each month. Trying to hold off until May when the interest rates are likely to go up then we can do 1 review for the hole lot, worried how the creditors will react.
When we set out on our DMP last June we tried to ensure we paid the maximum amount to the creditors however over the past year with the increase in petrol, utility bills, food bills and my daily parking fees and no pay rise for me and my OH have compounded things and money is tight.
So a review is due really worried but it has to be done.
So thats my update hope everyone is well.
Mikon
Couldn't agree with you more Mikon, I think a lot less stress if you make the least number of changes, even if that mean % drops lower than you would like. Less changes appears to relate to less stress from kicking off the madness
Good luck

Good luck with that Mikon. We are in exactly the same position. We have struggled since christmas and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight as OH will get £100 less this month on his second job. We just can't see the light but afraid as all our interest has been stopped. However I can't see how we can go on what with a huge increase in our gas electricity and fuel.
On a lighter note we have got a fab holiday booked on our Tesco vouchers. I had saved up for ages and we are having a week on a canal boat in August. :jSo I appreciate we are very lucky with that. (the travelodge in the lorry park will have to wait till next year:T)
Still got nothing definite about OH's redundancy except that it will happen, just not sure when. No jobs around here but I just can't spen 24/7 worrying about it as have been here so many times before.
Love to all xx
LL, what a devil re the payment and OH. Great news you have been resourceful with the vouchers though. Are you trying to take Teds bargain crown?

As a single person, I know if I had one it would be cheaper but as I live in a block of flats I don't think that will happen. If mine goes up by as much as yours did I will cut back on the hair, clothing etc bit of the budget to keep the same money going to the predators. 2012 will not be so lucky as things frozen this year will be chargeing again. So I'm hoping to do two years at the same and hope they don't get narked when I want/need to pay less in 2012.
Holiday sounds good vlue. :T
I'm single and on a meter. My bill is only £166 a year. Watch this space, have probably jinxed it now!:rotfl:

HH probably should have spread the vouchers out a bit more but in Dec the value decreased so had to make a decision and get the vouchers at 4X the value. It will be the last time though as it took ages to save them! Canal boats are bloomin expensive.
Pay day today so I can get some food. :jBeen a depressing half term living mostly off the cupboard contents. I need some fruit and veg!
Mikon I think we'll follow your lead and ring for a review when we've got all the utilitiies increases. Like you we are not getting any pay increases again this year. We are also due to go on a water meter and being a family of 5 it will prob go up. Trouble is all we know is that it will be sometime this year.
At least this should be a short month for those of us who are salary paid.:)DMP mutual support member 3970 -
Hiya
Switched energy supplier and that should be a saving of £10 a month. Good news
Should drop below £18k this month (£18k was always the amount I thought I was in debt in my denial days, oh how wrong). Good news.
£6k paid back when this months payment is made. Good news.
Entire Department at work is being reorganised and will find out in summer if I still have a job. Not so good news.
However, and as I preach to everybody else, I will not worry about this until I have something to worry about.

Good morning All .
I seem to be set up now (so far so good) The phone calls have stopped, Letters are still coming but I think they are just spewed out by the system regardless. Finalised the budget with a CCCS chap yesterday (my income fluctuates so have been settling on a figure.) Direct debit should start coming out next month.
I didn't think i stood a chance of acceptance but the CCCS rep said they were most likely to accept as long as my budget was reasonable and the debt was projected to be paid within 10 years (I'm looking at 7 ish)
I owe 34 grand to 7 creditors. one of which is Barclaycard...
Has anybody got anything good to say about Barclaycard?0 -
Don't even get me started on Barclaycard
I've got three credit card accounts with them, two are okay, they stopped interest and charges within the first few months, the other account, which is a tiny amount compared to the other two, they are continuing to add interest and charges every month, My complaint is now being 'investigated' though apparently (and I was cheeky enough to ask them to refund all charges since starting DMP - only charges though, not interest).
But like I said out of the three accounts two of them did stop interest and charges, I think the problem I have with this account is they are still receiving they're minimum payment.
There is no reason as to how a bank will behave (I don't think so from what I've read anyway), It seems to be totally random as to whether they'll stop or lower interest and how long it takes them to do that.0 -
Barclaycard are the only ones of my 7 creditors, or even the original 10, that charge interest.

Morning all,
Having few dramas with a company called Allied International Credit (UK) Limited. They are collectors for Mint Card. Got sent a yellow slip with a ref number on it. Passed all info on to CCCS, thought all was going ok but no  Allied say CCCS have wrong reference number but they haven't. We have written to Allied, tried to call them, got cut off after being passed around 3 phone operatives!!, called again and insisted on being spoke to...the chap gave me a bank account number and sort code...but when we gave this to CCCS wasnt right either. Now stuck as to what to do, have emailed CCCS to see if they have heard anymore await response. Should we just make payment to Mint Card direct?? Our statement balance has reduced by correct amount but nothing on there saying that account has been accredited. All a bit weird don't you think? Any ideas appreciated. Ta, the muppets;)0 -

Looks like we are in the same boat. Barclaycard are the only ones who charge me interest as well. I could be £600+ less if they'd stop. Me thinks the Goverment should look at them. It is not fair on our other creditors. We are not allowed to pay them less pro-rata but if they keep adding interest, I think we should be allowed to make them wait longer for the debt to clear than the creditors who do stop.
Muppets cannot help with the different account number thing. I did worry that my HSBC number with their collection agency could cause trouble this month but everything seems to have cleared OK despite having different numbers. So perhaps yours has been also or have you been told there is something wrong and thus unpaid?
BTW little tip for those with Payplan. I thought I'd be helpful and fill in my new budget online when I got my new Rent for 2011 but still did not have the water rate, thought I'd "be prepared" and just add the water when it came in. It appears you can only update every three months online. So advise you all to wait until everything is ready before doing it.
Raining in this part of South West London so the ball at Twickenham is going to be wet this evening. So, "please no swallow dives" unless we are miles ahead in the game ;-)Paddle No 21 :wave:0
