Alwasys the way! i have happy news i have just got engaged eek the money but we're going to keep it very simple and family will be helping.

Hope you are all ok will read through the posts i've missed and then catch up with you properly. got my review letter from the CCCS 1 year oh my how time flys, no news from creditors so that is good. But need to get my head in gear for review budgets etc.

    Anyways TTFN G x

Does this mean we get a review one year from the start of the DMP? I had one around Sept, having started in April. They said the next one would be a year but I assumed a year from the first review, not from the start. Am I wrong? Do I expect one in April?

Like you I had a review in October 2010, 6 months after starting my DMP. CCCS then informed me that my next review would be Sept 2011. However I think I am going to ask for another review shortly as my monthly expenditure has increased due to the increase in the cost of living and no increase in pay. Worried about what creditors will do.

ooh, I'd be too scared to reduce CCCS payments but the cost of living is SHOCKING. I have 3 kids growing so fast and even the cheaper clothes shops aren't cheap anymore, and one of my sons has feet so broad, he can only wear geox shoes:eek::eek::eek:

DH pay has been frozen and now the child benefit too but we have saved a lot by learning how to cook from scratch.:D

It's good to know you were told the same so hopefully I can relax until Sept.

I have 2 children also and as they grow up they have personal needs that initially are not accounted for and they also quickly grow out of childrens clothes and into adult clothes which attract VAT. I have also had a change in job in location in January which means more petrol and daily parking charges which I did not incur prior to christmas. Gas and Electric have increased we struggle and my OH is now anxious about getting through the month. Being on a DMP is supposed to enable you to live at the moment the worries have changed from how do we pay this creditor to how do we survive. Its not easy but we will probably have to bite the bullet and see what the creditors have to say. My view is that getting something is better than nothing.

Sounds like you need a review, then. We are OK, we have learned to be frugal and I think this experience has changed my bad spending habits for life. It's been like shopaholic therapy:rotfl::rotfl:

But if your basic costs are stretching the budget, then its time to have another look at it and see if you can reduce the DMP payment.

    Good luck with that!

Thanks. I have to agree with you being on a DMP makes you look at things in a different manner and now I question myself before buying anything which has too be good.

Hi maybe CCCS take each client cases differently. i was told a year from the beginning of DMP but i did quite a lot of leg work with creditors before i started DMP, also i have 3 creditors maybe that makes a difference ??
I really don't have a scooby doo. All i know is that i'm going to have to sit down and plan it carefully as i need the F&F battle to commence this year!

Gibbs- Glad to hear the job news went your way - the job i am on a career break on is now threatening redundancies and we are applying for our own jobs if you are at a 'at risk'grade. you should see the letter they wrote its like a flipping politician spinning a web.

Seems like we are all ploughing through, thankfully feb is a short month hurrah we all shout!:T

Goodnight all, middle of the week tm yey!

Time has arrived for me to address the interest charges that Argos are charging me. When I commenced my DMP last June Argos refused my offer of £8.00 per month but did reduce interest from 29.9% to 9.6% which at the time I thought was fair enough.

Well as each month passes i pay £8.00 they charge interest of £6.73 therefore only £1.27 is coming off the total debt of £909.

So I think I will write and ask them to consider stopping the interest and abiding by the lending code. At this rate it will take me over 40yrs to pay this debt off. There having a joke at my expense.

Has anyone else had dealings with ARGOS?
