I am pleased that things have worked out for you and your not going to be signing on.
Newbegginning - Good to hear form you pleased to hear things are quite on the home front.
Eyeopener2 - I would certainly go to FOS I did with CITI and i got the result i was looking for. I have wrote to Barclaycard quoting the fact that they should be sympathetic towards my financial plight. I have also quoted the Lending Code, which Barclaycard subscribe to and as a members of the BBA they should be committed to treating customers in financial difficulty sympathetically and positively, yet applying interest is forcing me into further debt and hardship.
I have also read with interest that banks want to dictate who they lend to but there is now growing evidence that they also want to manipulate and control the options available to debtors when they are seriously in debt, believing the debtor will not go bankrupt and instead enter into a long term repayment programme meaning they will end up paying a large financial penalty for being in financial hardship.
Anyway my letter goes off tomorrow and I have cc FOS, Chancellor of the Exchequer and the BBA.
Finally I am seriously considering offering F&F to some of my smaller creditors. Worry is that other creditors will start to apply interest.
Apart from that everything is ticking along fine.
But what an excellent end to the day to hear thats Gibbsrule has remained in employment.
Good Luck everyone.Mikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j

Chancellor of the Exchequer eh Mikon? Love it.
You sound like your up for a fight as well! Excellent stuff.
I'm still working on my FOS complaint. I'm trying to word it just right to gain maximum effect.
It is really annoying that Barclaycard are applying interest as they are the only ones I actually pay over the minimum. All the rest are way below! I could pay one creditor £70 a month more and STILL be below my original payment! If this doesn't work I think a call to CCCS to in order to rejig my payments somehow. I don't think it's right at the moment.
As it is, I do have some good news, in that I now have paid back all my Payday Loans. It has taken me 15 months from when I originally made the pact with the devil and borrowed that first £400.
They are now all gone.

Great News.:T It has to be a good feeling reducing the number of preditors chasing you. I want to reduce my creditors by going down the F&F route. My argument to my other preditors would be that I am realising more money for their monthly payments and its a gift from my brother. Who has insists that I pay off some of my debts.Mikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j

My barclaycards getting the required minimum payment too, thats probably why they think they can get away with stinging me for 2 x £12 charges per month, wouldn't mind but if it wasn't for the charges at least the balance would be coming down.0 -

Weird thing, but like I said the money on offer was very good, so although I am relieved at having the job I like and know so well still will wonder what change the money would have made if I had been pushed out of the nest. Think I like this outcome.
Phew - Glad things are on trackGibbsRule3

Mikon, my advice if you are going to try F&F is to do as much of it together so that when you adjust payments it's just once rather than lots of little computer trips that can start the nonsense off again.
Payday here, thankfully- extra bonus is being able to update signature

Small update everyone. I got the cashed in amount from my Savingsplan and that has allowed me to pay off my Debenhams Christmas borrowing in full with enough left over to make the one contribution I can to the "surprise" holiday to Florida that I could really do without but sneakily am beginning to look forward to. I believe I have enough to cover our annual travel insurance for us both with possibly some coppers in change.
I actually feel kinda pleased about it all even though I've still the masses to pay back elsewhere.
I'm so delighted for you GibbsRule. At the end of the day, coming near retirement, I think a reliable(!?) job is better than none. Retirement will allow you to do all of the other things you were thinking about - plenty of time. Have a celebratory cheapie drink at home from me!Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k. Hi everyone
Just checking in now that I've decided to be a much better paddler again. I got a letter from Halifax to say my payment plan was coming to an end and to call them. I'm so confused. I was told that my plan ends in another month and I had to call back at the start of March as they couldn't make any changes or set up a new plan until then. So why the letter now?
