I think I've seen on these boards before that Metropolitan sometimes lump accounts together into on. So if you have an overdraft and a loan it becomes one account.

I could be wrong on that but i'm sure i've seen something like that happen.

Can anyone assist me on this matter.

I had an overdraft facility with Barclays which they closed when my DMP started some 8 months ago I received a letter stating the balance of the account in May 2010. I have paid via CCCS my monthly payment but have never received a statement. I recall reading somewhere that banks have to send you statements at least every 6 months has anyone received statements for their overdrafts? I am considering writing requesting a statement but would like to know what my rights are.

    Any advice is much appreciated.

  • Sorry mikon cannot help. My HSBC bank only contacted me when a Direct debit I had forgotten about went to them and it took it over the amount I'd left in the account. I didn't use the overdraft facility. So nothing else came to me during the months I wasn't using it.

    Hi everyone

It's quiet on here of late is there another forum that people are moving onto?

Anyway contacted my Cable supplier today and informed them that I was leaving as SKY had made me an offer that was half the price I was paying at the moment. Cable asked me how much and then reduced my existing monthly payment by £22.50 a saving of £270 per year cannot believe it but they have. They said that they have used my loyalty discount.

I only rang up on spec as I had read on MSE forum of other people doing this so I thought I would give it try and it has worked.

So another bit of money saved so I am looking at other things now.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Sorry been missing, had a few problems with work and UE to sort out. Re Barclaycard starting to add interest again. Complain to the FOS, you have paid your payments, and asked them to be reasonable and they haven't been. You are in hardship and they are making it worse for their own gain, they are also predjuding your ability to pay your other creditors by adding interest, everything will take longer. Its a quick phone call, doesn't cost you anything, the FOS will write to BC and believe me, they DON'T ignore the FOS. If BC still don't back down, the FOS can take it the full way. Bear in mind that BC have just been fined for giving crap advice and MBNA are still smarting because they were also fined for not treating debtors fairly, now is a good time to complain. If you let them trample all over you, they will!!!
New bit of case law with reference to UE, a win in this case, not allowed to post links to all about forums on here, but the info is all there for all to see.

    Have a good day all!!!

  • Does anyone know how long a bank gets to reply to a complaint? Wrote to barclaycard beginning of the month and haven't heard anything back, now even an acknowledgment.
  • should be in their complaints t&cs, but I would say you should have had at least an acknowledgement, worth phoning the FOS now, its things like this that they are there for.

  • Thanks, think was wondering whether to sent another letter hurrying them up, but because I've not even had an acknowledgement I'm wondering if I sent it to the wrong address, can you go to the FOS even if you haven't received a reply?
