I don't understand as my repoayment plan has only been running for 7 months and I have not revised my payments so I do not understand why interest is being applied. I am certainly not paying anywhere near 1/2 the required minimum payment so its got me beat. I just wonder how they work?
I don't get it either. I can pay less if I want, it's a bizzare policy.
Not sure what to do next.

Hello......
Its sooooo long from I checked in, is everyone still here?
I've been so busy home educating all 3 kids now, I have hardly come up for air. :eek:The DMP has had no hitches so nothing to report there. Got through Christmas pretty well, too. So much so, I was able to buy myself a new outfit in the sales. From my LBM a year ago, I bought nothing new except for socks/undies and I used clubcard double coupons for those.:T
I feel a bit strange being here, like I don't really belong as its been so long:o:o
Anyway, I'm off to read the last few pages to see who's about and what been going on...Paddle no. 12

oh poop, now I know why I haven't been here in a while......
Ignorance has been bliss! When I read about other peoples woes, I panic.
I think Next do this thing every 3 months, cancel the plan and demand payment. I think you just need to call them ahead of time to say the DMP is still running. I may be wrong, though, but thats how they've been with me, I think.....Paddle no. 12

ljm23k did you get a letter saying that they would be handing the debt off to a Debt Collection Agency and to avoid this i need to clear the debt.Mikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j

No Mikon, I didn't get a letter. Just a note on the statement to pay up as I hadn't paid by the date. I phoned them and they said the payment from CCCS was late and that had cancelled the plan. I am doubtful about this, though.Paddle no. 12

Hi ljm23k,
good to see how you're getting on and glad you got that outfit! :j We managed Xmas too, thanks to the Grabbit board on here...
have you got an Aldi yet over there??? :rotfl: I overdid the Wackos in the end and can't face them now... This time last year I was about to start the Token Tango...now my DMP is running fine, although like eyeopener is saying, I'm a bit bothered that when I can pay more, I will end up paying more interest, which defeats the object...
It's really nice to see you on here, so please don't feel like you don't belong. Have you had a DMP review yet?
Ted x
No Aldi yet!
But I have become rather good at cooking from scratch. I highly recommend the series of cook books by Gil Holecombe:T
I had my first review in Sept, I think, and they said the next one would be in year. My payment went up by £6, so no trouble caused by that.
I know what you mean about this time last year, CARPING it all the time:rotfl::rotfl:
Must get back to the kiddies.....

After yesterdays Barclaycard debacle todays post brings a letter from Santander marked 'This is not a circular'.
So this is either, before I open it;
a) informing me I am in arrears with loan/cc/current account
b) a threat of default on loan/cc/current account (already defaulted on all three)
c) another default
d) a letter absolving me of all debts and I will in fact receive a rebate of all interest and charges for the last 15 years.
So lets open the envelope..........
it's b) and apparently my credit rating will be harmed if I fail to repay my account within 14 days.

Hi everyone
Well I sent a letter today to Next asking them to clarify the situation. I hae also calculated the amount of service charges that they have applied to my account since going on the DMP and have asked them to make a refund £25.83 which does not seem alot but it equates to 5 months payments on the DMP. I have asked them just to deduct it off the balance andensure that the correct balance is transferred to the DCA if they are passing it over. So I will wait and see what comes of that.
Letter to Barclaycard asking them to reconsider applying interest and quoted some guidance so I will see what comes back from that.
I am now doing some reading into reclaiming charges that have been applied to my accounts whilst on a DMP not sure how to approach this so I am waiting someones advice on here.

proud of you for being proactive but calm :T My HSBC loan has gone to Metropolitan. Letter today saying so long as I cough up £xxx by 17th of every month they accept the money. All laid out 48 monthly payments, fly in the ointment I'm a bit worried by the account number they are quoting, so have asked Payplan to check for me it is correct. They are using my old HSBC bank account number not the loan account number. So a bit confused, they also included a Standing Order to pay them with but I'll let payplan carry on for me. So something hitting a fan might come into play around the 17th if wires are crossed.
I think I have had a very good January money wise, so hope it continues for a few more months. I really want to add to my savings for that rainy day.Paddle No 21 :wave:0
