Hey Gibbs, don't let it get you down, as Dopey says it will cost a fortune to make you redundant so lets hope for the best.
Isn't there always something in this life that tries to bit your ****!
On another note, the census stuff looks interesting, not sure I could fit it in to my real job though. Mmmmm.

Thanks for all the good thoughts regarding the possible redundancy. Not withstanding that it might actually make sense to use it to ask for F&Fs, does anyone know, because there might be money, if I would legally have to use it to pay off the debts right away? We have a union meeting today but I don't want to ask that in an open forum and I don't have my personal rep assigned to me yet. Funny thing, if the payout total is better than 40 months take home pay, taking into account tax on it, I'd not need to work again. Thanks for the info on the £65.00 JSA for 6 months. I notice there are redundancy threads, so guess I should ask some questions on those but you guys are so good, I like asking here.Paddle No 21 :wave:0

End of an era for this Eyeopener.....
Santander/Abbey/National&Provincial/Burnley Building Society.
I've been with them in all these guises, I have banked with them since I was a we chap (9), but today, I have finally lost my banking facilities with them, they have withdrawn my account, cancelled my card, stopped my online access to my balance. Generally told me to eff off.
I am feeling not wanted.

Hi
Santander have finally decided to close my old account that is within my DMP , i'm paying back the overdraft. Although I don't like Santander I have been with the various institutions most of my life.
Shame but onwards and upwards
My basic account is with NAtionwide, a much nicer bunch.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

Hi nittygritty, good to see you.
I wasn't with Natwest but I know there are templates re interest on the National Debtline website plus Mikon has written some brilliant letters if you scroll back on his posts.
Hope you're ok.:)

Gibbs - how did it go today?
Ted
My news.:beer::j:j
Due to years in job, preserved rights from Civil Service days and todays wages they almost made me say yes. 3 - 5 thousand more maybe, to take into account how much tax I'd pay on the figure they gave and it might have been silly not to say yes. So if they did decide I am the one to go, I'll be pi@@ed, then fight it because of the injustice when we know who should go on a purely work basis and then not mind.:j:j:j
Where can I get the best interest rates, should the need arise?
Since I've done the job for 39+ years and I like it, would not really know what to do myself if I wasn't working, don't fancy looking for another job now and while living on the money would be possible, enjoying the spare time would not. So I'll hang in there abit and wait for my lump sum and pensions in 3 years, that will now be mine because of the DMP and paying off the debts. Then I can have some fun.
Another piece of good news, letter from HSBC on mat, dreaded opening as last one was threatening this and that. This one has agreed to the DMP with Payplan so long as I continue to pay the agreed money. So all accepted. Might draw breath and then see if Barclaycard will stop interest.Paddle No 21 :wave:0
