Just rang CCCS, and they said if I underpay them by what I have had to pay out then they distribute the payment so I'm not actually missing a payment but just lowering it for a month.
I'm still having a problem with Barclaycard charging interest though.. Does anyone know of any other template letters, been on national debtline but none of those match the circumstances, and I've tried coming up with something myself but i'm useless.0 -
Hi NB
Thats sounds promising with the reduced payment.
Now to Barclaycard How long have you been on the DMP with them. Have you mentioned it to CCCS do they have any other letters they can send out for you?
Could you adapt a letter thats what i did and it worked. Not sure what to suggest maybe MIKON has one up his sleeve? x0 -
Hello all,
Santander sent me lovely letter today telling me they are registering my default with the Credit Reference Agencies and that this will seriously affect my ability to obtain credit for the next six years.
I feel like writing back and asking them to alter the "the next 6 years" to "for ever".
Oh and stop sending me these pointless letters. Saturday my offcial Default Notice and Monday " we are going to tell on you cos you have a default now".
Big deal, I will file it with the other 9 defaults i've collected.
Arrrrrrrrghh.

I had my first from HSBC last Friday saying near enough the same thing, so I'll join you in the "forever" bit
Payplan emailed today said they will write again to HSBC with the offer but feel it is more likely to get a response when it does get passed over. My other 3 debts all accepted in-house. Kind of wish Barclaycard hadn't as they might have stopped interest.
All these letters coming now probably hope to spoil our Christmas but it probably just makes it better, knowing this year no money is being spent using cards.:T So go US!!!!Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -

I've been on DMP since feb and they've never stopped interest and charges, it was only a small balance on the card to start with and that's almost doubled since feb!! I've had a go at writing the letter but not sure really what I'm doing, I have mentioned it to CCCS but they just said 'write to them' I've been moaning about this forever but am actually going to do something about it this time cos they're taking the p*ss now!0 -
Good to see you back Teds.
Hello to everyone else too

Hi all
Glad to see that on the whole we are all looking forward to Christmas. Also - we all seem to have one thing in common. Everything will be bought and paid for and you know what - I don't really think that a slight reduction has done any harm to those I am giving the gifts to. In fact, because I thought a little harder about what to get because of my tight budget, I think I've actually bought everyone better presents this year. My prize - no additional debt for the New Year. What better gift to give myself!!
As for all those who are getting letters - read them, file them away and stop worrying about them. That's why you gone to charities for help. Let them do the worrying. The main thing is that one way or another we are not adding to our debt and - no matter how little or how long it takes - we are finally beginning to pay it off properly and some day we will be debt free!!!:j Meantime, we are learning how to live with less money but have just as much fun with friends and family doing it.
I certainly am going to tackle the New Year with a fervour and hope that I can begin to find out whether my job can be made permanent or not. I'm so happy where I am at the moment, the fact that I have no stress in work actually makes the money worries a little less of an impossible mountain and more like a climbable hill:DDebt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k

Great to hear you sounding so upbeat Mephista. Good sentiments too, cheered me up as feeling a tad glum. Roll on Xmas for some time out!

Hi to the rest of you,
Not sure how many of you have been online shopping but i've started using quidco (am i allowed to say it) sorry moderator if not. Its brilliant so whilst i've been buying the odd gifts i've also been making a bit of cashback. There were a few sites where i thouhgt they won't have it on there and they are!!
Xmas shopping is done all paid for!! A little over budout slightly but get paid on Friday so what the hell (bad me)
Hope your all doign ok and the letters have stopped.
Quick question for those with MBNA/Virgin do any of you still have access to your online account they removed mine when they passed the virgin account back into MBNA main system. I haven't heard anything for a while but wouldb't like them to put the interest up all of a sudden.
Cheers all x0
