Hi Gabriella
My MBNA/Virgin online access was withdrawn. I can still login but I can't actually access any info because my account is in administration.
Seems a little silly to me as I would still like to keep a trace on how my account is being reduced and to see any amounts in black and white.
They're the only ones amongst my creditors who seem to take that attitude as far as I can see.
Very strange and petty if you ask me.Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k

Well done Gabs
The comment re MBNA is about their recent dealings with the OFT. Fermi posted some very helpful abstracts from the findings on the DMP mutual support thread.
Hope that helps.

Goldfish are very happy. They have such a simple life, swim, eat, swim, eat. And we humans think we are the intelligent ones.
It's been a strange old time this Christmas. We have spent what I think is quite a lot but is nothing compared to previous Christmases. I will, for the first time in a long time, owe less after Christmas than I did before and me and the family will still be able to celebrate in style. Not a single item has been bought on credit. My wife refuses to use her overdraft and still struggles to understand how I managed to do what I did. To her, if you don't have it, you don't buy it.
I do wonder what happened to my brain in these previous years of debt addiction (and alcohol addiction!) I must have been mad.

Just popped online at work to wish everyone a happy christmas. Broadband is playing up a home need to get it sorted but just havent had the time plus is the free sky one so its not costing me anything and it is saving me cash as well as its stopping me ordering online. CCCS got back to about boiler cover said its okay as its an essential and sent me a new budget sheet to fill in. Havent got round to sorting it yet tho (I'm so bad) will do over christmas break. The provider I'm with now do a fixed price package with boiler cover included so I'm gonna ring them to see how much extra it will be if I move.
Keep getting withheld numbers calling me at home no one there if I'm in to answer probably a marketing call I'm sure if it was important they would at least say something.
Lets hope 2011 is much brighter for all of us.
Speaking of goldfish i do believe that Santa will be bringing 2 to my DS for Christmas (well the tank and then cash to go and get them from the pet shop). Dont think I could manage hiding them till the big day.0 -
Hi everyone
Sorry I have not sent the template for letter to Barclaycard regarding reinstating interest I have not yet contacted them due to a bereavement in the family I have not been able to get around to writing to them yet. I hope to do this during the holidays. Sorry Eyeopener for keeping you waiting. Just devastated at our loss and feeling quite low.
Received a letter from OPUS yesterday who were CITI to say they had not received payments for November & December. It transpires that CCCS have paid the money but to the wrong account quite worrying so another letter that needs to be written. Contacted CCCS but was not convinced by the guy on the other end of the phone that he would deal with it may I may be wrong.
Finding Christmas tough to deal with especially on a reduced budget without credit cards etc and children's high demands for the latest things makes me feel inadequate as a parent. My children do not know our situation and find it difficult to understand a christmas on a reduced budget. On top of this had major car problems and no money. How did i get into this state?
I have even considered reviewing my monthly payment to make life a bit easier but just worried how the creditors will react, everything jut seems to be going up.
Life like this for the next few years does not fill me with enthusiasm.

Sorry for your news mikon, never good at this time of year.
I have a little question. If you are with Payplan and also bank with the Co-op how does your DMP show on your monthly paper statements? Guess it could be asked of other banks as well. I am on my own and unless I leave the statement lying around should people come over, I guess no one should see the statement but if I ever need to send a bank statement for something it does say "DMP". So wondered if I could ask for it to say something more obscure? Basically does it say DMP because that is how I set it up, or does it automatically have to say DMP?
Had to buy wellies today, so a little extra expense hopefully offset by not going out for afew days over Christmas and the New Year.Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -
Hey Mikon.
No need to apolgise to me. I'm just a bystander in your life, your family comes first everytime in everything you do. You look after them first, thats all that matters.
Keep strong, remember where you came from and why you started on a DMP. Try and think positive, you know, how muchyou have paid back not how much you have left to go. Think also of where you could have been if you hadn't put a brake on things. Could be a hell of a lot worse.
Our consumer Christmas doesn't do any of us any favours whether we have money or not, it just becomes one damn spend fest and !!!!!! the consequences. I was in Mr T today thinking this is just madness, I was glad to get home to be honest. What have we become?

I am with CCCS however on my bank statements it shows a payment to a holding company name and no mention of the DMP or CCCS.
Eyeopener2
Thank you for your kind and comforting words. You only realise how commercial Christmas is when you are in our situation. Your are certainly right if I had not addressed the problem I would certainly be in deeper water than I am in now. I guess my slight depression is a result of the turmoil in my life which was finally tipped me when I received the letter from OPUS.
As for Barclaycard the digging around I have done indicates the BC had given me 6 month interest frozen that has expired and I need to send them a statement of affairs and ask them to reinstate the 0% interest.
I do try and remain positive but sometimes i find it difficult to see the positives in my situation.
Thanks once again and Happy Christmas and a very prosperous New Year.Mikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j
