Good luck Mama!
I was going to be all super organised about starting homeschool again tomorrow but there's a mountain of ironing, I can't see my desk, my daughter English book hasn't arrived yet and the downstairs loo smells of wee......Paddle no. 12
DMP start 1st April

Thanks Gabriella!
Hope you're feeling a bit better now - once I've said how rubbish things feel I usually feel a bit better. Our budget keeps running away with itself too - must join you with an account book!
You sound to have a good plan to get the dfd down from 2022...its just a date and a target to beak. We will do it!
Hey Mama thank you! yes better now just a DMP Blip, went for a jog/run to blow the cobwebs away, and a no spend day today as well. The spend book/account thing really helps especially if you have fixed DD's coming out later in the month after you've been paid. You write them in when you get paid so your book tells you what you've got hurrah!!
Good luck with the job tm........deap breath and you'll be fine. Looking forward to hearing about it x0 -
Hi Time Traveller, welcome along good stuff with the CD's and other bits all helps!0

Hi
I've been posting on the Mutual Support thread and also trawling through the posts on this thread both of which are helping me get through the first few months on our DMP.
Our situation is that our second payment to payplan has just gone out. We have 3 creditors. Nat West & Tesco (large debts)and Post Office medium but all in all a scary amount.
I have positive days when I'm starting to feel in control and moving forward. On the other hand I have days when I just feel scared and can't see an end to it.
So far Tesco have been the only one to accept our payment. I assume they won't be adding interest as it seems they've included £6000 in the figure they've submitted :eek:and the amount we're paying them is only just short of what we were paying before!
Nat West scare me as reading this thread it seems they could be a problem. Also I'm worried as the amount going to them is now much lower than to Tesco (because of the figures submitted by Tesco). All we have had is a statement and a phone call from our account manager saying our case had been forwarded to another dept.
Post Office CC have not acknowledged our DMP at all, have sent us a notice of default and have just sent us a second statement showing interest and a Late Payment Fee. Is there anything we can do about that?? I have written to them backing up what I know they would have had from Payplan but heard nothing.
What is worrying me the most is the possiblity of them not freezing interest at all. Does this happen very often?
Just feeling very vulnerable at the moment :(but wanted to say these forums are an absolute life line so thanks everyone :beer:and one day I hope I can be help to others.DMP mutual support member 3970 -
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse.... I've been made redundant!
My first payment has gone to CCCS today but do I tell them that I now have no job or do I hang fire for a bit to see if I can get another job quickly. My redundancy payment will last me for 5/6 months so at the moment I'm keeping positive that I will find a job and then be able to throw a chunk at my debts.
Any thoughts would be appreciated

Ellie - Sorry to hear that! I would let CCCS know, as they might want you to lower the payments temporarily. I understand you want to get bills paid off, but you don't want to get into a situation where you are eating into what little emergency fund you'll be able to put aside. Better to have a temporary drop in payments then back up once you get another job, than to struggle to get through and be in a worse position later.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

hi Louby Lou, Welcome along i have 3 creditors as well and also they are quite large amounts, so we're in the same boat.
Its totally natural to feel in control one day and then not the next i've now made my 7th payment to CCCS and a few days ago had a wibble as my DFD if i do not increase my payments is 2022:eek:. i had a winge then thought about got some lovley hugs on the forum and saw the next day through.
Try not too worry as its early days in your dmp. Keep an eye on Tesco and Natwest as i'm aware Tesco are underwritten by RBS which is now linked with Natwest. you may get letters from Triton which are natwest and RBS's inhouse collections. So it might all get lumped together. DO NOT let Triton bully you, if they call only confirm youru name, address but no income mortgage etc its none of their business and they're just fishing.
As the post office have defaulted you it means the debt will probably move to a DCA which means they'll prob freeze interest and charges. If your feeling very very brave ring the post office and ask if they received your letter ( did you send it recorded delivery)
I hope this has gone a little way to settling you. Alot of people say don't ring the creditors but i have found it helped to find out what was going on. One i rung actually said it was accepted and they hadn't told me. Payplan will keep paying so they cannot say you've got your head in the sand.
Take care and chin up, sending a hug :grouphug:

Hi Ellie so so sorry to hear this. The same thign happened to my friend a couple of months ago. I'd def ring CCCS to get their take on it. i don't know if you were on token payments before, maybe you could look to go on these for a couple of months whilst finding a new job?
Wishing lots of luck

I am seriously considering going the Dmp route as I am £20,000 in debt - loans, credit cards the lot. I cannot make the minimum payments this month. But my big question is this: what happens when I need to get a new mortgage next year when my tie in period ends - would I lose the house as well as will be credit blacklisted.0
