well thats the dmp agreement signed and sent back along with (i think) all the correct info needed to set it, up the child benefit letter finally arrived yesterday.
today is payday and the money has gone into the new santander account without any problems, tomorrow our mortgage comes off our old hbos account and then i will contact them to change that over to the new account too.
i have bought 6x £1 postal orders today to send off with my token payment letters. i know some people have said to drag out the token payments but how do you tell cccs thats what you want to do?
i almost did not send the dmp agreement letter today was stood in the post office fighting with myself and feeling really guilty and ashamed about this mess but i know deep down we can't carry on anymore, payday took £375 of the wages today but hopefully thats us done with them now!
i have barely slept a wink this week0 -

Nice one Louise,
You will be fine, we have all been in the same position about doubting the way forward or regretting our previous actions that got us in this mess. You you can do nothing about whats gone before. What you can do is move forward, pay your debts and change the way you deal with money.
Its not easy this DMP lark, but its a damn sight better than where we were before the DMP.
Good luck and once the letters and phone calls stop (which they will) you will sleep like never before.

Well done, louise! It's that first "oh my god, I've not made the regular payments!" freak-out that is the worst. It's like you've been running with scissors, left the fridge door open, and stepped on all the cracks in the pavement - it goes against everything we've been told growing up, and it's a bit scary!! Then it gets better..... LOL Best of luck!!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Hi all haven't popped in for a while again. Thought i'd better as have just done a round robin of my cerditors checking balances etc.
I've also been torturing myself with my DFD which if i carry on at the same level of payments is 2022:eek:. How very depressing :-( I've got 5 payments to my mum to pay her back and then i can start saving properly for FF . The budget thing keeps going out of the window so have started an account book so if i use my card i know exactly how much i have left to the penny. It also helps, as i just had a look through and again thought were the heck did that cash go i took out. I just want to keep it up. If i add the money i'm paying to mum to the DMP in 5 months time if still only makes my DMP 5 yrs away. £25428.04 to go!! am feeling particulary crap about it all today so sorry for the winge. On the positive i'm not being charged interest fingers crossed i can save up and FF's and bring that date down.
Mama happy belated birthday, hope the new job goes well.
EE your DFD is pretty early and we have a similar amount of debt, can i be very rude and ask roughly how much you are paying a month?
Hello everyone else new and old welcome along, Feel free to pitch in any questions they will get answered.
Byesy bye for now, promise to pop back more now xx0 -
Hi all,
Thought I'd check in with an update. Salary got paid into new bank account and first payment went out to dmp. One creditor has come back accepting the offer and stopped interest and charges which is great news :j So thats 1 down and 4 to go!
Trying to get used to budgeting which is exciting and daunting at the same time. Managed to get tyres for £70 and my dad gave me a load of cd's to get rid of so I have sent them off to music magpie so should get £83 for them which is cool. He has some more I can have as well. He was going to charity shop them so I persuaded him that I may as well be the charity
My sister has also agreed to pay me the £200 back she owes me sometime in October, so thats the money for the car repairs sorted
So at the moment everything is going smoothly (ish)!

Thanks Gabriella!
Hope you're feeling a bit better now - once I've said how rubbish things feel I usually feel a bit better. Our budget keeps running away with itself too - must join you with an account book!
You sound to have a good plan to get the dfd down from 2022...its just a date and a target to beak. We will do it!DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20
