The problem I have now is that although it passed the mot it only just passed and my two front tyres are very nearly illegal, so need replacing asap! My front disc and pads and rear shoes cylinders also need replacing so I guess im looking at about £300 or something, which surprise surprise I don't have!!
I would have just banged it on the cc but cant anymore as the one with £400 on it has been blocked until I make the minimum payment which is now £356 and I can't use it anyway as almost on dmp lol.
I actually feel better now having wrote it outLooks like im going to have to start selling some stuff. I have about £45 in change in a tin so will have to break into that and my sister owes me some money and she has a job now so [STRIKE]may[/STRIKE] will have to ask her to start paying me back. Ill do a payment plan for her
I really felt like crying before but feel ok now (im male btw and we all know men don't cry)
Hi TimeTraveller
Car disasters and dmp seem to go hand in hand - gremlins getting at us. We've had so much car grief in the last 8 months and its been so hard without the cc safety net but ultimately so much better without the evil bits of plastic. Good luck with that money raising plan and no being soft on your sis!
Maybe if you needed to you could do an extra month of tokens to raise money for the car - especially if you need it for work?DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -
Ellieseleven wrote: »Hi mamjojo, thanks for asking:T Today has been better from a phone perspective, I think that we have only had 2 calls so far. We've received our pack from CCCS saying that they have written to all our creditors with proposal for payment, maybe this is having an impact on the phones?
On the whole having a better day... onwards and upwards:)
Once CCCS were involved the calls did slow down - but some creditors took a looonnngggg time to recognise what was happening. But you'll have your cccs number - you'll know it off by heart soon - quote it, that you are entering into a dmp with cccs and will be paying them what you can afford to be distributed fairly to all your creditors.
Glad its been an easier day on the rollercoaster:DDMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -

Worrying about creditors is not worth your time. Ellie don't cry, they are definitely NOT WORTH your tears. I am looking at the UE and I am totally astounded at the amount of sheer lies, misrepresentations, and absolute drivel they have sent back!!! no actual enforceable agreements so far!!!!
So chins up peeps, it is only money and money doesn't work for a lot of things, family, loved pets, great friends, they are all more or less free!!!
Please cheer up and just don't answer the phone if it annoys you!!!!
Thanks PDD - wise words as always-hope there are no enforceable ones for you:D

Thank you all for your kind words and advice over the last couple of days, you have really helped to keep me sane! I don't know what I would have done without you all:T
We now have a breakdown of payments to each creditor from CCCS who have also written to each with an offer of payment. Phones have not rung as much. Couple of letters have arrived 1 from Barclaycard who have said that they will freeze interest until DMP is set up (30 days) and 1 from capital one saying that they have "noticed" that we have missed a payment (that's an understatement)
So feeling much better all round:o
Thanks again

Had my first communication back from Egg in 4 months. Good news, at last. Interest stopped, thank you!
2 more creditors to get on board, diary note to chase them again next week.
Happy weekend everyone.

Morning all, hope that you are all o.k.
We have had a shedload of post this morning but I think that it is good news:
Both mine & OH Barclaycards - interest frozen for 30 days whilst dmp offer is sent to them
Capital 1 - letter says that our account has now been set up on the reduced payment plan and a default notice enclosed (think this is a warning but not an actual default?)
MBNA - say that they have not accepted but I think that they have (confused?). Letter says that the offer of payment is not sufficient for them to accept us onto a formal repayment programme but that they will waive late payment fees and interest as long as we make payment, so as far as I'm concerned they have accepted the reduced payment amount.
Santander - just a demand for payment
Is there a chink of light at the end of this very dark tunnel?:)Debt Free 1st March 2017

Woop woop Ellie, positive news indeed. Let's hope it's infectious. Some DMPers choose to not open post at weekends to get themselves some time off, it's generally the only time I can really get my head around it all. If anyone else is opening post today, good luck!

All in all quite a positive day after the horrible few days we had earlier. I feel much better now that a couple of preditors have accepted reduced payments and yes HH, lets hope its infectious and that we all get accepted:)
I've been opening the post as it comes, sometimes with one eye open and from a distance:rotfl:but I would rather see whats in there otherwise my very active imagination conjures up all manor of demons trying to get out of the envelope:rotfl:
Feeling much more relaxed than of late and hoping that everyone else is too - even in my depths of despair I am still so glad that I have done this:o

Ellie - looks like things are starting to settle in now, so hopefully that will mean less stress and worry for you. It seems to go in stages, I've noticed. A flurry of communications from them (by post, as they don't have our phone number), and then silence for a bit, then another flurry of communication.
It's been a lot of ups and downs for us lately, but we were pleased to see that we now have 2 debts that are unenforceable (one of them was our largest debt!), and another that they've told us in writing that the balance is £0 and that we don't owe anything more (which I'm not about to question!). We still have a few more CCAs to get back, but at least we feel we're doing something about it. I think that's the best part of the DMP - that you feel like you're taking control back and doing something constructive.
Hope everyone is doing well. Oddly enough, my mind keeps turning to Christmas....MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
