  • Morning all

Hope you are all keeping well.

Glad to see you back from hols PDD. Been mighty quiet around here!

Lol Candy keep kissing the postie! Here's the letter I used

    Dear Sir/Madam
Re xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx– DMP CCCS xxxxxxx
Thank you for statement of June 2010 concerning the above account. I am sorry that you have not felt able to suspend interest charges. The majority of my other creditors have agreed to the offer of payment and agreed to suspend any interest charges still accruing. They have accepted that to continue to charge interest would not assist me in my present financial difficulties, and can only serve to increase the total debt.

As you are aware, I have already paid considerable sums in interest to the account. If interest charges continue, the monthly installments I am paying will barely cover that interest. Also, the cooperation of the other creditors who have agreed to freeze interest already would be put at risk.

I have now made three payments to the debt management plan I am running with CCCS (xxxxxxxx) and I would therefore be grateful if you would reconsider your decision not to freeze the interest. This would mean that the monthly payments we make would actually reduce the balance outstanding to your company.

Should my circumstances improve we will contact you again. Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

    Yours faithfully

    HTH.

    Have a good day everyone

    HHx

    Evening

    Little update.

After sending a letter of complaint to the Complaints Dept at Santander the Collections Dept has finally decided to reply to my letters (and CCCS) and be nice (ish).

They will accept the DMP for my current account, even though the Credt Card and Loan Santander were happy to do this two months ago, but they will not refund the charges already applied to the account .

However I THINK (its abit badly worded) that they are stopping further interest and charges:j

I still haven't had official word from Complaints about my complaint so you never know they may refund the charges yet but I won't hold my breath.

So after 3 and a half months all my creditors are onboard the goodship E2DMP.

    And breathe........

    Evening all,

Got my first acceptance (well sort of) from MBNA, they sent me a letter to say they had received all from cccs and that although the offer is not sufficient to accept me onto a formal repayment programme they will take it anyway and will waive any future late and over-limit fees and interest charges. So i am taking this as an acceptance anyway and it has put a little tiny smile on my face that maybe things will go ok.

So thats 1 down 12 to go.

  • Evening all, after going around the houses in various BoS departments, they are maintaining their 1% a month stance. However, my last phone call tonight was with someone who mentioned the possibility of being defaulted (I thought I had?) and then transferred to their in house DCA, which would of course stop interest, we will see, not holding out much hope. Hi everyone!

Cliff jumping was brilliant!!! It's a massive zip wire over an old flooded quarry, something like 100ft up and 500m long, great fun :D bit of exhilaration for a Thursday morning anyway! If it stops raining I think we're going to go and see some jousting this afternoon, should be interesting!

No DMP news though, which is good. Its payday next week so I'll be trying to increase my payments a little. They're all on standing order so should be easy enough to amend and I can't see them moaning about getting more even if it's only 50p!

Good news E2 and Andy! Keep pushing Prof, fingers crossed for that DCA for you :)

Probably won't be around much this weekend so hope everyone has a nice, peaceful restful weekend :)

  • Hi All,

Hope you are all well. Long time no see. Sorry been busy working trying to pay the big debt off.

Does anyone know if I can send a telephone harassment letter to HSBC who are still calling me to pay. They have had all my paperwork since January (started DMP in January) but have not agreed or given to a debt agency yet.
I have complained in branch and recieved a letter saying sorry but it is procedure. Yes and my health is suffering!!! AHHH:mad:

    Thanks
