True - very good - river de-nile made me smile! Hope the turning isn't too painful. But the big question is will we bump into you next week???

Me too!! I have actually got a whole week off :D so its a high possibility! I really hope the weather is good for you - PM me a mobile number if you want, then at least you've got a local contact if you get stuck/bored/rained in!

Kinda envy your 'time out'... was it good, just for a while?

Oh it was utter bliss Teddy, until I realised that it has added a whole year to my DFD! So I don't recommend it!

  • Evening all

Decided to keep my jokey signature for a while.

Is anyone fantasising about what they are going to do the month after the DMP reaches the DFD? Anyone got a treat planned?

I've got 4 bottles of champagne in the fridge that were presents. I've decided to have one this November, one Nov 2011, Nov 2012 and Nov 2013 to mark the significant occasions. When I'm struggling with thoughts of time taken to clear I start wondering about life after, makes me feel really positive, don't want to wish life away but I like the fact it keeps getting a day closer.

    Hi HH
Got to admire your champagne saving power! Enjoy when you open it!
I don't think I've even thought about ' when its over...we are more focused on knocking the time scale down. I'd love to have it all over with by the timd dd starts senior school! Which is a fair old target as it would be knocking 7 1/2 years off our debt free date.
When its over it'll be passports all round and we'll be off - gives me plenty of time to work on a bikini body!

    Hi again all

Just to say thanks for all the welcomes to the thread. Just popped in to say hi after updating my diary as going through a period of insomnia at the moment. Mainly related to money worries but hopefully it'll get itself under control soon. Decided to wait till the 9th for the rescheduled CCCS appointment as I just can't get any time at work during the day to call on the offchance that a counsellor is free. Still feel more upbeat about the whole thing though. Am trying very hard to take it one step at a time and not allow my control freak tendancies to take over! I'm sure this'll be a good lesson!

Afternoon all, Having a quiet afternoon here, ds is away to see Ateam for a friends birthday and dd has a wee friend over, so that will keep her occupied.

Received a phone call from CCCS on Thursday to say they had received my stuff and confirmed my first payment will be September, so just waiting on my welcome pack now. Im glad its finally starting but nervous too have some butterflies in the stomach when I think about it. The plan is for 15 years:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:, it was originally to be 10 but with my dh cut in hours we had to lower the payment so my aim is to definitely get it back down to the 10years. DH reckons he should be back to normal hours by October so hopefully we can and then I think we'll just save save save and try to get f&f, although saving sounds easy there just always seems to be something to spend the money on that you just cant budget for. I have been keeping to my budget for the past month or so anyway so I'm sort of in the way of it all now anyway I think its just its going to be official now its a bit scary.

Must go and make the wee girlies some lunch now, cheese toasties they've asked for and something nice!

    Enjoy the weekend all.

Afternoon all, been away on free holiday to Isle of Wight (parents live there) and come back to the DMP rollercoaster after 3 months of relative peace.
After 3 months of no interest BoS have started to charge 1% a month interest without any warning or communication, spent over an hour on 3 seperate phone calls trying to speak to a manager, of course "there is no manager available".
Am fuming as they advised me to go on the DMP in the first place and at that time I was paying 6.9% on all three of my cards, so now after taking their advice am now paying nearly double again, will be calling Payplan on Monday and am awaiting the call from a "manager" at BoS, some chance.
Mikon, can I have the address of the Ombudsman please, as I think I may need it, it certainly is a rollercoaster again.
    Hope all well peeps. PPP
