Hi Jeddy, it was much the same for me, no official acceptance of the DMP, but as soon as they have received the first payment there's been no interest with the majority of the creditors
Welcome Tixy :j:j

Evening Everyone!
Feeling completely rubbish!! Lots of statements today & all horrible!
Nationwide - originally accepted, wanted payments on 1st. CCCS said they know when money comes from them (25th) & not to worry. Now a letter from N/W saying they're 'disappointed' I haven't kept to agreement and to pay total immediately.
Capital One - Original letter 2wks ago saying they look at DMP info & let CCCS (not me) know what they decide. Nothing on statement & then seperately letter saying I was still in arrears and to pay-up (no mention of DMP).
Barclaycard - Nothing on statement, still adding interest.
Next - Nothing on statement - not too worried though as they are expecting
payment on 25th.

Vic You are not back to square one at all, just check all the dates, these statements come out of a big sausage machine so perhaps they haven't had time to sort it out. Might be worth a couple of calls to Barclaycard and Cap One, but just if you are feeling a bit indignant and a lot assertive:D:D:DMore than Two Years in

Hi everyone,
Am I in the right place? I was the scaredy cat on DFW yesterday and some kind peepssent me a link for here...
I would just like to announce I do owe a whopping £28k debt:eek: and far from being proud, I'm glad I found some people in same boat as me. It's taken me months of burying my head in the sand to finally realise something gotta change, big time:idea:
I have an offer of a DMP from Payplan and have done the Debt remedy thing with CCCS but STILL cannot make up my mind. Just thinking if hubbie to be (htb), gets a job soon I can keep up with the contractual payments and avoid dmp. Soooo confused what to do. I think the things I am most worried about are, never being able to get a mortgage again cos am on a dmp, pants cred rating (although don't want anymore flippen credit cards EVER) and taken to court for a CCJ.
Someone advised yesterday that Payplan and CCCS are both good but I seem to see better feedback with CCCS and wonder whether they are more successful:question:Debt £22k (ish):eek:LBM April 2010DFD - work in progressPaddle no. 26"whether you think you can or you can't, your probably right"0 -
Albie, don't worry too much about how much you owe, no one is judgemental on here and many (including me) owe a lot more than you do.
In answer to your question re. CCCS and Payplan, on this thread we tend to be a mixture of both, in my opinion there seems to be little difference between the two and the differences that exist are quite subtle.
Obviously it is totally up to you if you embark on the DMP or not but my personal experience is that a great weight was lifted off my shoulders when I made the call and decided.
It is great to have money in the bank and knowing that I havent used a credit card for nearly three months.
Re. your mortgage concerns, you will more than likely be defaulted which means little chance of a mortgage for 6 years I'm afraid.
Ultimately though you just have to weigh up the pros and cons, but use this thread the girls (and now guys) on here are great. Good luck. PPLBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.

I also had that wobble about mortgages and credit ratings, but had to face up to the fact that we just were not ever going to pay this debt off, so no mortgage anyway!
Everyone's situation is different and I don't know what's right for you, but some of what you say is very familiar, constantly hoping something will improve and you'll manage to keep up with the proper payments.
It wasn't until we went through the DMP budgets that we realised how much we'd been crippling our lives managing the debt. We were living on almost nothing and scraping by with food each month - now we can allocate reasonable amounts and it's an amazing feeling. I have an old pair of boots that are falling apart a bit, and though I can't afford new ones yet, I can finally afford to get them re-soled and stop knackering my feet!0
