Hi VicB yes this is one of my concerns if I go for a DMP I will get a pants credit rating which really only concerns me is that I live in a one bed flat, am 34 yrs old, getting married this September and hubbie is 10 years older so he'll want babies in the next 6 years...where we going to put them. But then it might not happen, depends what nature decides I guess. Plus I only want 1 bubbie! ;)

    Hi Albie!

I really don't worry about my credit rating, it was pretty pants beforehand, not because I missed payments (I never did) but because of the AMOUNT of debt I had, Vs what I earned (and it was all loan/CCs, no mortgage). Plus I realised I wasn't going to get out of this mess without the help of a DMP, so had to do what I felt was best for me.

I'm looking to move in the the BF this summer (renting), when I spoke to CCCS about this (as it was one of my BIG concerns when looking into DMP) they said I can always rent privately (so no credit check with an agent) or have my parents as a guarantor if we went with an agent.

TBH there are LOADS of private properties for rent on Gumtree, I think as long as you can give them a deposit (normally a months rent) and good references you'll be fine. And also cover yourself with the relevent rental insurance.

Me and the BF have been through a lot together and I always now think what will be, will be. I've been to enough BIG weddings (over £15k jobbies ) recently to know that's NOT what I want. And with babies, I don't think you're every really ready, financially or mentally...you just have to go with it, and I'm sure it'll be all worth it :):)

    HTH, sorry I've waffled on!

Hey VicB, you're so right. Whilst we have to plan for the future, we have to live in the moment and do what is right for us now. Like you, myself and HTB have been through a lot together and although I thought "I want no more cr%p" to go through, I must think "hey if we can get through all this together then the sky is the limit!" You cannot predict the future, we may not even be able to have the bubs, who knows. I'm glad you mentioned Gumtree. Reckon that could really be an option for us down the line! There's always a way around things somehow and it's nice to know all you lovely people are there to support and hopefully I can support you too!!:grouphug:

A bit p-eed off today, I want my life back. It all started when I went out after lunch with the kids and my mum. DH is working this evening so we invited ourselves over for tea and she stopped at my fav really expensive gourmet food shop with kiwi jam, handmade sweets in glass jars and all those lovely things with raffia ties and fancy labels. Of course it also has slate floors and granite counters, total luxury.:)
I am currently on a self imposed food budget, my DH pays the household bills but I have been trying to spend less on food and electricity, even though we don't really need to. But now I want my nice food back and to use the dishwasher and tumble dryer!!!

Anyway, then I got to my parents house and of course she handed me the latest copy of Country Living and my breath was taken away by a liberty print dress from Brora (165.00:eek:) Then she handed me the catalogue

    D**m it!!!:rotfl:

Oh ljm what a dilema! Ive almost avoided going into my fav shops as the temptation and knowledge I cant spend is too great. I blame the kids, their stuff is far too tempting :rotfl::rotfl:
