    Hi Bluesnapper

yes you're right its a delaying tactic, no good reason for it other than they are trying to make your life just that little bit more interesting. did this with OH's cc, messed about, sent them letters telling them to get some sense, then ignored them for a while and miraculously they accepted DMP and stopped interest. and anyway, CCCS deal electronically so they are talking bosh!!!

Hi Mikon, I've just found this in an article going back to March 2010 when the Ministry of Justice worked with the CCCS and the BBA to try to come up with extra support for people in debt...

Firms should consider reducing or stopping interest and charges when a customer evidences that they are in financial difficulties. Such reduction/suspension decision should be based upon an income and expenditure statement indicating that they are unable to make repayments sufficient to meet contractual terms. Where a customer is able to make only token payments, their debt should not increase as a result of interest and charges levied.

Guess if you need to write and ask them to stop you could quote the new guidelines and tell them you will write to the FSA, OFT etc etc I noted on another thread that CCCS have a letter which they can send on your behalf.

Hopefully, they will stop interest and you won't need to write...in which case you should soon see your debt begin to come down :D

Tedsd Thanks for the info. CITI & M & S have not had sight of my SOA so I guess its what PDD says they need to see something from CCCS. I will ring CCCS on Monday and seek their advice before I write because they will just either ignore it or say we have not seen your SOA so we are not aware of you being in financial hardship. However the info you have provided me will be good ammunition if and when I do write.

Thank you both Tedsd & PDD.

    Question No. 2

Can anyone tell me what the process is and how long it takes with CCCS after you send them your statements and the signed document. What happens next?

    Regards

Tedsd Did a bit digging around on the FSA site and could only find information relating to Mortgage Arrears see the link http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/Library/Communication/PR/2010/013.shtml

Your not getting confused with this are you? Sorry for asking just need to have my facts clear before writing.

    Hi Mikon
I've had to go and look in my file to jog my memory....and our dmp only started in march! The stress must be falling away!
I think you must have sent letters to creditors saying you are entering into a dmp with cccs returned the statements and authorisation doc....
with us our docs had to be returned by the 7th feb, we had a letter dated the 9th feb saying the dmp had been set up and all we had to do was set up the dd with cccs, which because we phoned on about the 15th of feb was set up to come out of the account on the 10th of march instead of the 1st for that month. That was it. We started breathing again.

    Hope that answers you question!

From what I remember took about 10 days, CCCS sent notification and SOA to creditors, then the phone calls start!!!

You'll probably get another letting from them confirming start date 1st June or maybe July now

No date for return was on our letter from CCCS it just said ASAP. We have been waiting for all the statements to arrive from creditors and all of these will be sent with payslips on Monday to CCCS. No Direct Debit has been set up yet and I am hoping to make a payment on 1st June to CCCS so they can make payment to creditors on 25th June , however I am aware they need to write to all creditors with a copy of my SOA so I was just wondering what the time frame was for this. I am being to presumptuous to expect to make a payment in June?

I guess I will need to ring and talk to them on Monday.

I sometimes wonder if this is all worth it it is constantly on my mind and my wife tells me that somedays I look like a broken man I wish some days I could go to sleep and and wake up an this nigthmare is ended but i know it is not going to happen not for at least 7-8yrs.

    Thanks once again mamajojo
