I sometimes wonder if this is all worth it it is constantly on my mind and my wife tells me that somedays I look like a broken man I wish some days I could go to sleep and and wake up an this nigthmare is ended but i know it is not going to happen not for at least 7-8yrs.

    Thanks once again mamajojo

Yes it is worth it, I felt like that at the start, was always thinking what if's, I started DMP on the 1st Feb and can honestly say I feel a million times better now, once you get that first acceptance you know you've done the right thing. Once you get set up with CCCS you'll feel better.

    Here here tedsd,

The phone calls the dreaded phone calls. Although I have asked some of my creditors to remove my number from their records and some have obliged Barclays & Barclaycard in particular. No wonder they get into financial difficulty the banks do not seem to know what the right hand is doing in relation to the left hand. I just tell them that I am working with CCCS here is the ref no... please remove my telephone number from your records as I have children who may answer the phone. Goodbye.

Tedsd I would hate to see how much interest CITI & M & S Money will have charged me after 5 months. Have you sent your statements etc to CCCS what is the delay?

newbegging Thank you I just wish I could stop thinking about it. Its good to hear it does. I was considering going to the doctors and asking for some prozac but the problem is still there so I am trying to resist but it is hard and the letters are not helping. My wife has the right approach she just tells me stop worrying they are computer generated the banks are aware of the problem we have rang them and wrote to them so what more can we do. However it does not make me feel any better.

But hearing it from you gives me that lift. Thanks Newbegging

    Thank you mamajojo

No date for return was on our letter from CCCS it just said ASAP. We have been waiting for all the statements to arrive from creditors and all of these will be sent with payslips on Monday to CCCS. No Direct Debit has been set up yet and I am hoping to make a payment on 1st June to CCCS so they can make payment to creditors on 25th June , however I am aware they need to write to all creditors with a copy of my SOA so I was just wondering what the time frame was for this. I am being to presumptuous to expect to make a payment in June?

I guess I will need to ring and talk to them on Monday.

I sometimes wonder if this is all worth it it is constantly on my mind and my wife tells me that somedays I look like a broken man I wish some days I could go to sleep and and wake up an this nigthmare is ended but i know it is not going to happen not for at least 7-8yrs.

Honestly it will be worth it Mikon... the nightmare of trying to find money just to service the debt and not get anywhere with it is so much worse. The sinking feeling will go, your mind will get back to the important things in life. and soon. 7-8 years sounds lovely - we are 12 years at the moment, but not looking at it like that, more trying to see it as a target we will beat.

I wonder if you will manage a start date for June now, don't pin your hopes on it I think we might be a bit far into may now, but it dependes how cccs are I guess. But it relation to timescale as PDD has said cccs must send the info out to creditors electronically as the first communication making reference to the dmp was dated the 11th feb, thats when we had our info back with cccs for the 7th.

    So things get rolling quickly.
Our phone calls slowed right down once we got to this stage and the ones that did come were able to see they had had contact with cccs and were much more sensible for the most part!

Sending big hugs and an appointment with a glass or two tonight!

Hi newbeginning - Well Crap One have miraculously stopped but RBS are still calling daily even though there's nothing new to tell them...

I had the opposite, Crap One called constantly and wrote to me about once a week, RBS never bothered me too much

Hi Mikon, google Ministry of Justice debt March 2010 and have a read... there is a bit about mortgages at the bottom of the article but the rest appears to be just about debt in general. when I phoned CCCS after Easter they confirmed the new £1 token bit for my CC debts...

    See what you think...

Tedsd I have read it and find it very interesting will certainly use some paras from it if I need to. Thank you.

I suggested earlier I am going to have a glass or two tonight to ease the worrying.I guess its just the unknown.

Thank you to all who have replied to my threads today. One day we should all meet up and raise a glass to being Debt Free.

Thanks for the support your all great and inspirational.

Calmness all, CCCS do send everything electronically, so your timescale could work out fine Mikon, no prozac, you won't need it cos when you are up and running it will get better. Of all of us on here (this thread), no one would want to go back to the months before their DMP started (WOULD THEY????) so it will get better really. We only had around 6 actual phone calls from creditors, and most of those were of the you've cancelled your DD variety. NO ONE was horrible, as I've said before, incompetant, thick, reading from a script, but not horrible. So it can and has been coped with and you will all be fine!!!

OK Dopey's rant is now over, can't talk cos of my throat so am shouting virtually!!!

Mama hope your Ok and bearing up, remember what i said about info, knowledge is power!!! (which actually applies to debt coping as well, wish I had known years ago what I know now IYSWIM?)
