SIL just found out she's got breast cancer, and its gone to lymph nodes - 1 out of 3 of the cluster they've removed and has been told its very aggressive. She's to have a mastectomy on Wed and I think the lymph taken out on one side. So shocked and don't know what to do to help. Hope you dont mind me saying it.

  • Hi everyone

Not been on for while. Had my first initial telephone with payplan last week and they sent me the authorisation form to deal with my accounts, but not had a call from my personal advisor yet!! They said i would get a call in the next few days and that was last Thursday!
Going to wait until Monday and then ring them if i havent heard anything. Getting worried just want to get this thing started.

Anyway hope you all have a nice weekend.

    Speak soon xx

Am with Payplan, they are fantastic, but do like things to be right before they start the ball rolling.
Assuming you have reference number now just quote that to any creditor that contacts you, if you can muster the courage it is a very good idea to ring your creditors tell them your situation and explain you are in the process of setting up a DMP with Payplan. Several of us on here did this and it makes a lot of difference re. them hassling you.
Try not to worry, I would call them on Monday though if you haven't heard anything by then.
As soon as they have confirmed your balances and you have set up (if you need to) a new bank account it is only a matter of weeks. PP

Mama, really shocking when it happens to someone close, and I bet she has led a comparatively healthy life. You just have to be there for her, and keep her outlook positve, cos that is really important. A close friend of mine is going through it at the moment and one of the things she said was that she never had time to look at the web or likbrary before she was plunged in to (life saving) treatment and she worried terribly that she was agreeing to the wrong thing. Just a thought that might help you deal, you could perhaps ask and do some of the research for her?? Its just really hard, hard for her, hard for the family. Hope the news is good.

    Hi Freshstart,

I'm with Payplan and it can take a week to week and a half for your "stage one of DMP" conversation. I wasn't able to complete my "stage one" conversation this week but have another booked for net Thursday eve. Have they advised you to send an "I'm in a DMP" letter with tokens in the meantime and set up new bank account? I have found even if I call them in the meantime they are always ready to help with day to day queries, even if you can't get thrugh to your own personal advisor:)
I think they are open tomorrow until 1pm or 3 pm if you need some reassurance?
