  • Hi everyone

Cant believe how nice everyone is on here.:j Its very early days for me and cant believe i have got into this situation. Not got anything to show for it either just the usual using cards for everyday things like petrol food and ever increasing minimum payments:(

I am determined to get on the right track for debt free life. Not used my cards since September which was really difficult at the start as didnt realise how much i used them for little things! Suprise birthdays etc...

Have now finally decided need to do something as cant keep up with the payments any longer. Hopefully this really is a freshstart for me.:)

MIKON - you are so right health and family are more important xxxx

Tedsd - Thanks i will google charging orders and speak with payplan not had my call from my adviser yet just received the letter this weekend that i have to sign for authority for them to act on my behalf so will ask them when they call.

    Fingers crossed this goes well.

Thank you all for your support. xx

    Gooooooood morning Popsickles!

Hope we are all lovely, well, positive and smiley???

Apologies in advance but I won't be around much this week - I'm working just every lunchtime and evening this week covering for holiday (yay pennies!!) and when I'm not working my house has to be a priority. Just been wandering around looking at the state of it, have no idea where to start but I must find somewhere! DH is away on a course all week and therefore out of the way :D so I can just crack on and do it! Wish me luck!!

Will pop on and update if I hear anything DMP-ish but I'm not holding my breath!!

Hope everyone has a lovely week, massive dodgy hugs all round :grouphug: xxx

Hi everyone! I'm back on my (v wobbly yet) feet!!:j<- not quite!!

La Redoute (twits) passed my account on to DCA as soon as I started my DMP and my account no longer exists online, so why are they sending me discount letters? Nuts:rotfl:

    Good Afternoon everyone:wave:

I have compiled the letter below using your fab letter template suggestions. What do you think? I have a telcall scheduled with Payplan tomorrow to discuss the "next stage" and they have sent me a letter of authority to sign, in order for them to act on my behalf (will send that off today).
Am I doing things the right way round?

    Date

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    Re: Account/Reference Number ACC NO

I would like to inform you that, since making the above mentioned agreement with you my personal circumstances have changed and I am experiencing financial difficulties.

I do wish to repay my debts but at the present time, I am in not in the position to pay the monthly minimum payments. I am currently seeking help from PayPlan who offer a non fee-charging debt management plan and intend to shortly produce a statement of affairs and repayment plan.

In the interim month or so I shall make a token payment to you of £1.00 as a sign of good faith (please see enclosed postal order). As soon as I have updated my situation and a Debt management plan is set up I/Payplan will contact you again.

During this period, please could you freeze interest and any charges accruing on the above account? I am aware that you have a good reputation for going beyond the Banking Code minimum requirements to deal sympathetically with individuals in trouble.

As other people who answer the telephone are not aware of my financial situation, please can you remove my telephone number from your records? Therefore all future correspondence between us should be in writing.

I hope this is acceptable on a temporary basis.

    Yours faithfully,

    Name
