I just got a Marriott account through today, I applied a week ago an got the usual 7-10 days response online.

    7.5k limit @22.9apr

I have went from Vanquis (£3k limit)
    Capone prOgress (£1200)
    Tesco (2k)
    To this

I got accepted for a substantial mortgage in between this and the tesco card. My last nasty was dated 29-12-04 as satisfied and i haven't had a single charge since.

It was the rewards scheme that I wanted as it gives you 10k points if you spend 200 quid, I'd like to take the wife away Xmas shopping for a night in a city later In the year so it basically gives you a basic nights accommodation if I'm reading it right?

Dunno if this helps anyone but it seems a decent product, please do correct me if I'm missing anything though :D

I also applied for this card 2 weeks ago and was accepted with limit of £3,000 and apr of 22.9%.

This card would have been better suited to earn reward points if it had 12 month interest free deal on purchases rather than balance transfers.

That being said, the letter said there was promotional rate on purchases which was 10% apr. Don't know for how long. Maybe for 12 months. Did your letter also had any promotional purchases rate?

Ps, I think to even qualify for 1 night at Mariott hotels in UK, one ideally needs 20,000 to 25,000 points which means spending 10 to 15 grands on the card unless I have got the rewards points system all wrong.

Up on the top right hand side it did say purchases @10% but it didn't really give anything on how you qualify for it? Or how long it is valid for, they are phoning me on Thursday to transfer a balance so I'll ask them what it's all about then if nobody can answer on here by then

Its an example rate, look below
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

The 10% is for "Promotional purchases" - i.e. it's not on all purchases, but specific ones, which Creation deem to be "Promotional".

I've however never known of any purchase that counts as "Promotional". Ignore it. Anything you use the card for will be charged at 22.9% APR or whatever your standard rate is :)
    Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I got 18.9% on my Marriott but a lower limit of £4k. Seems odd their lending criteria...
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂
  • I received an application pack through the post for a Creation Card so i apllied on line and got accepted. i managed to transfer £6000 and get a credit limit of £7500. My Credit Report spells danger having gone through bankruptcy in Set 2009....!!
