    No, it couldn't.

That's an old hacknied argument that's never held up in court, and never will. The borrower signed the agreement and took on board the responsibility of the credit lines, as an adult capable of entering into a credit agreement the borrower is responsible for deciding if the limits are too much, not the lender :o

Besides which, in your case, Sygma's credit scoring wouldn't see the other cards as they wouldn't be on your credit file so soon, so as far as their computer was concerned you'd not have those limits on top of existing ones.

You couldn't around 6 months ago when I cancelled my Silver. May have changed since then though.

Pfft... It's hard enough getting it done when you call them to be honest.

I'm still waiting for my credit balance to be transferred to my current account from my Silver card... Three weeks or so on and the request still hasn't been actioned.

No sign of my accounts being closed. Have fired off the request in writing via Royal Fail, will have to see if they can read better than they can hear...

  • They have a new card, the Marriot reward card. 0% for 12 months
I have a deep burning indifference
  • When my Vanquis grows up it wants to be a Sygma credit card :)
I'm not poor i'm just skint
  • When the promotions stop phone them up to cancel and they might offer you another 6/12 month o% BT. No point in having the cards if there's no offers.

No not high - £22k approx - Couple of weeks between apps except AllSaints/M+Co and Silver which were all done within 3 days.

FlyBe, Creation, Silver, Accessory, AllSaints = £2,000 each
    JJB - £850
    M+Co - £250
    MaxiMiles - £3,200

... and I got a Nationwide Visa - £2,000 limit during this time too.

No-one would touch me a year ago. Got a cloudy history on Experian, but must be clear on Equifax (now).

In 18 months when my Experian will be clear, I'll look at closing a few (I'm clearing them all in full anyway) - my file will look awesome with all those green ticks :)

How come Marriott is so low?

Applied for the Marriot card. Was given the 7-10 days for decision. Received letter few days ago declining me. Said in my case not enough information recorded to allow them to make an informed decision as to how I would operate a credit facility.
Being as I have several of their cards I think there is enough recorded information available to them.
Anyhow, in November they refused me a credit limit increase on my JJB card (limit only £350) stating the decision was based on their company criteria relating to credit limit increases.
So I though well, thats that. No more applying for a while.
But today I have received a Marriot card with £1500 credit limit!

Applied for Marriot credit card. Was accepted online with limit of £3k.

I have read the rewards points scheme. So to qualify for 10,000 points, one need to just spend £200 within 6 months. I assume it includes balance transfers. Does anyone know how many points are required to qualify for 1 night stay at Marriot hotel? I know it depends on the category of the hotel but just generally speaking how much?
