Hi hope everyone is having a good day. Gone slightly off planner tonight. There was way too much rice last night and too much veg the night before so we have stirfried them together with an onion and a bit of soy sauce so no waste and only an extra onion used. Dont give me one of your angry messages please Weezl like you did to Arty:rotfl:. Back on plan tomorrow with the bacon pudding.
A suggestion if you mind for Shirley i think it might be helpful for the pies if you said "line an 8" tin or use a pudding bowl that is x deep" and also approx how many slices of toast the spreads should cover. If that is too much of a faff then i understand just thought that perhaps would be helpful. Ok will go away for now:)

Oh, I guess I could force something down. If I had to. For you.

    Hehe :D

You really needn't worry yourself about my weight loss though, Weezl. As I said before, I always felt the food sufficient, and my frame really can take a fair bit of fluctuation either way. So I'm good, honest :)

so if I'm being old mother hen ish and you refuse me, is that kinda like being told to cluck off?

Gasp! Weezl very naughty this evening! xxx

    come back!

great ideas as ever, and what an inventive idea with the leftovers :)

Pink hayley, are you out there?

This might go in your excellent tips section?

right ho, so numbers of pieces of toast as well as the weight of spread? Will do.

would folk testing also please do me a favour and if you have had success with a particular size of pie dish/bowl being perfect for, say onion tart/bacon pudding, could you post your dish dimensions :)

murrell and anyone interested in giving vegan recipes a go:

    vegan risi e bisi:

100g walnuts chopped and stirred through at the very end
400g dried peas soaked and cooked as per packet instructions
    1 litre vegan stock stock
    65 ml veg oil
    1 tblspoon balsamic vinegar

    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    160g onion, chopped up small
    400 g rice
    salt
    freshly ground black pepper
2 tspns mustard powder/1 tbsp (15 ml) mustard

    garlic

start off by frying onion in the oil until translucent, adding rice and peas, then stock and mustard. Bring to boil, turn down to simmer and cooked for further 30 min. You may need more liquid so top up with hot water from the kettle.
When nearly done, stir in vinegar and lemon juice. Tate and adjust salt/pepper/garlic accordingly. When done sprinkle with 25g per person of chopped walnuts. Add a little more cracked black pepper and drizzle some of your rapeseed oil over the top if you like it to look like a Jamie Oliver recipe!
the consistency needs to be quite wet, much more like a sloppy risotto, eat with a spoon not a fork :)

We had the risi e bisi for dinner tonight. Flavour was good but was a bit dry from being microwaved.
I have another few portions in the freezer to eat before I cook it again fresh but I think I may give it a go when its just the kids and me.
