ETA: OMG, value butter has gone up to 98p!!
 Why do they think anyone would pay that when organic butter is regularly on offer at two for £2?

does anyone else think it's really strange that lentils are portrayed as bad for you in this article?

    discuss......
I think it's more the fact that they have to have lentils all the time because they can't afford anything else.

But given that her problem is partly caused by debt accrued getting here and partly by her lack of English, I think it is a poor example for them to choose as it is hardly the state's fault that someone got into debt coming here and can't speak the language well enough to get a better job.

I miss this thread. I miss the chat about Susan's kids, and Lesley's meetings, and Weezl's random conversation with AM about how they can power the TV with an exercise bike and Allegra's lovely daughter's complicated dietary requirements... I think unrelated chat is brilliant, can we bring it back?

You just wanna gossip, Sian ;) Cool, I'm game.

Having mentioned Spanish speakers with insufficient English, I would very much appreciate 101 easy way of saying to someone with not much English "You may only use the library computers once you have acquired the username and password from your tutor". And if you know how to say it in Spanish, I'll be eternally grateful.... :D

He he, and a hubby, does he count? ;) I am not sure Weezl really pedals a bike so she can watch Martin on GMTV but the idea appeals. Sorry, was just being overdramatic

If Aless is around, please could you point me in the direction of an authentic-ish green bean casserole recipe (am I right in thinking it's a Thanksgiving dish?)
I've a garden full of green beans and would like to try this, but have no idea what it should be like!

:rotfl: I did think of that later actually. But he's pretty good really so I don't think he does count.
