Probably a good idea. I think it's particular iron and B vitamins that have increased demand in pregnancy but I'll check in a minute as I've got my nutrition file out anyway. Since I normally do almost everything which is recommended (except eating tofu, nuts (I normally have some but not much) and fortified cereal) and having done lots of calculations recently I think it is pretty hard for a woman to get the recommended iron in and almost impossible if pregnant without some kind of supplementation (whether that is fortification or supplements).
thanks that'd be handy if you could check your file :D

I've just had a quick look and although some requirements do increase slightly, it looks like it's mainly the iron and B vitamin requirement which significantly increase during pregnancy.

Pizza was a HUGE hit! :D Everyone ate it and loved it. Worked perfectly with half/half plain and strong flour. I did add some left over mushrooms and a sprinkle of basil though, but I figure better to use them than them go in the bin, right?

What about baked potatoes? My meat eaters will eat them if I scoop out the potato, mash it with some milk and add in some fried bacon bits and a little cheese then bake them till it starts to go crispy. But if I presented them with a regular baked potato and cheese I'd get grumped at.
Awwww tia, I'm thrilled it worked :j:j:j:jdid they grow to the same size? If they did I think you've just saved Shirley even more cash, cos I can swap some bread flour for plain.

Thanks so much for popping on to let us know!

    Whatcha gonna try next?

Sure you don't want that pudding basin?

Aless shall I bring yours to the IWM?

No downsides for far :) Somethings haven't been 100% clear but with a bit of trust in the plan and common sense it's been fine
BBH,:A if you ever wanted to document bits which need to be clearer, I'll add them to my ever increasing 'do list'! :)

I promise I'm not drunk, but can I just say how very much you all and the community spiritedness of this thread mean to me?

I had a really nasty experience in my workplace during my pregnancy, which lost me a bit of my faith in people and their lovingness and willingness to help others in need.

This little team has done masses to restore that, thank you.

It's incredible you are so willing to help out with real poverty in the UK.

And I feel it's in a real long lasting way (if shirley learns to fish) which is a whole lot more worth it than chucking a few coins in the 'children in need' bucket at the entrance to the supermarket once a year.

I love you all :) (and I'm an ENFJ)

Looking at your pic on the website, yes. If I can photobucket to upload my pics... Nice big puffy bases. Didn't go soggy either.

Those ones were stored in the fridge for 2 days, and I have another 3 in the freezer.

Honestly, I'll just use the plastic one in the slow cooker, or MIL has loads.

Chilli tomorrow :D Was going to try your bread tonight but with Amber being so ill, I'll leave it till tomorrow.
