Aless I made some enquiries about a London stay on 24-26th September.
For family quarters for all 4 of us for the weekend, breakfast included it's £240 does that sound ridiculous/about right?
Would that be a good weekend for folk to come to the IWM? xxx

web developments:
OK so sian has set up an email, fab
here's the thing:
To add a new tab to the menu bar just underneath the controversial toolbar, saying 'contact us' will be a BIG job as each of the hundred pages will have to have it manually entered into the HTML.
Yucky fiddly grunt of a job, and neither Dad or I are strong on detail- Him INTJ, me ENFJ.
We will do it at some point though if valuable.
An interrim solution would be to put a small hyperlink at the foot of the homepage, saying contact us, next to the bit where it says copyright Liligan 2010.
Or do people feel it could should appear in the text on the homepage, or perhaps somewhere else?
And lurkers, if any of you are skilled at HTML and CSS and read the bit about adding in a tab and thought, 'oh that's the kind of thing I could easily do, just ping me the code and the files'
Well it would be simply criminal for you not to speak up!

weezl, my html is a decade old at best but i thought that sort of thing was 1 main style sheet or whatever that's then applied to all the pages? Or is that something more sophisticated?
240 doesn't sound bad - kinda just depends on locationand how nice a place u want! Is it 2 nights? Whereabouts in london are you looking? Nosey metop 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

Web developments 2:
about the banner, I think the urgent thing is to switch to something with a right hand side white fade, because on a screen the size of artys the banner currently looks unprofessional.
So I shall swap to the panzanella with the white top, and work on a photo within it with perhaps slightly less red to be friendlier as per allegra's suggestion.

Here at cheap family recipes we're always working to improve the experience of using our site, and also feel very encouraged to hear about people using our planners and recipes to save money.
We don't have enough team members to necessarily respond to every email, but we would love to hear your thoughts and feed back. (gives link which opens their default mail client in a new window with our email address in the 'to' field).

:rotfl:Lesley I think your calorie counter is adding them already cos they're in the ingredients column already in the version I'm looking at. Does that make sense? Ie the onion tart has it's extra veggies listed as well in the column you were adding up for the calories, doesn't it?
yes, the cal counter is already adding them in, but as I was doing, say onion tart, that is what I thought the cals should be. But have changed my mind and added in the veg again. Now have cols showing the dish on its own, plus a second one showing it with its recommended accompaniments0 -

It's a family quarters at the royal college of surgeons, very near russel square tube. Nice big rooms with space for fergie and Kes to have travel cots. £240 would be all weekend. Dunno, whaddyathink?
the look, size, colour etc of the tabs is all held in the stylesheet Aless, you're absolutely right, but this is currently on every page:
<ul>
<li><a href="index.html" class="active">home</a></li>
<li><a href="cookingadvice.html" class="active">cooking advice</a></li>
<li><a href="planners.html" class="active">meal planners</a></li>
<li><a href="recipes.html" class="active">recipes</a></li>
<li><a href="costings.html" class="active">costings</a></li>
<li><a href="nutrition.html" class="active">nutrition</a></li>
</ul>
yay what a fun task!

Shall I email you Dad's spreadsheet, or would that be a retrograde step and too faffy?

another banner question:
so under where it says family recipes, in place of 'that won't cost...'
we replace with 'feed a family of 4 for £100 a month!'
as per arty and QOS feedback?
