hmmm, recipes have veggies to have with on the bottom - should I be including those in the cal counts?

haven't so far, but could easily add in

I have decided to add the veggies in, seems right

If it isn't what our Weezl wants, I shall have to take them out again

susan, careful on the liver front if TTC tho lovely. I'm sure you know that though:)
I'm planning to do some calcualtions on how much vitamin A is in the things I have with liver in them. I haven't especially increased my liver intake because of my iron though. I've been having black pudding and egg on toast for breakfast (8mg vs an average of about 3mg in my usual breakfasts), home made fruit and nut mix (4mg in a daily 100g portion), odd snacks of mussells and eating enough dark chocolate to have 1mg from it per day. I figure the amount of iron in 30g chocolate isn't high enough to have been the thing that made the difference in the study of pregnant women so there must be something else in it which helped and therefore stopped them becoming anaemic.

Weezl-Is there anything else you would like me to do with this site? Just wondering?

I dont think anyone would expect it to cover pregnant ladies as they need more than the average person, however if you are worried it would be easy to put a sentance in about it.

Hope your steak was lovely-they are iron rich too.

    Hi de lurking again,

The option 1 link still doesn't work on all pages.
    Planners > Option One > Month 1 > Recipes

Also I never found a reply to why the garam masala had been removed from the carrot cake so can anyone enlighten me?

    Many thanks
    Hiya Keggie :)

Thanks for noticing that I'll have a look now. Which pages was the breadcrumb not working on?

I have reinstated garam onto the carrot cake recipe now, sorry it got lost :o

Things I feel Arty could contribute:

    Artistic flair

noticing where the recipes aren't clear enough for cooks who haven't tried certain things before

Knowing whether the site will have appeal to students

Pals and a mum with a fair bit of webby experience who might be prepared to give it the once over.

General friendly encouragement helping us all to keep motivated...

    Shall I keep going?:rotfl::D

there's actually a bit of a boring task which you might be up for, it's just to revisit the month's shopping list I posted before you all did your test (the one with a kilo of smartprice cheese-we subsequently swapped for mclelland due to it being BOGOF) tap it all into mysupermarket and post what the prices are today.

I'm providing 675mg of bob and shirl's monthly iron through the good old hot oaty dooo da or else I think their diet would be a trifle low in it too Susan :o

Reading what you've just put above I wonder if I need a covering sentence on the nutrition page about not expecting this planner to deliver all the nutrients if people are pregnant?
Probably a good idea. I think it's particular iron and B vitamins that have increased demand in pregnancy but I'll check in a minute as I've got my nutrition file out anyway. Since I normally do almost everything which is recommended (except eating tofu, nuts (I normally have some but not much) and fortified cereal) and having done lots of calculations recently I think it is pretty hard for a woman to get the recommended iron in and almost impossible if pregnant without some kind of supplementation (whether that is fortification or supplements).

:rotfl:Lesley I think your calorie counter is adding them already cos they're in the ingredients column already in the version I'm looking at. Does that make sense? Ie the onion tart has it's extra veggies listed as well in the column you were adding up for the calories, doesn't it?

Pizza was a HUGE hit! :D Everyone ate it and loved it. Worked perfectly with half/half plain and strong flour. I did add some left over mushrooms and a sprinkle of basil though, but I figure better to use them than them go in the bin, right?

What about baked potatoes? My meat eaters will eat them if I scoop out the potato, mash it with some milk and add in some fried bacon bits and a little cheese then bake them till it starts to go crispy. But if I presented them with a regular baked potato and cheese I'd get grumped at.
