Looks fabbo Weezl. I'll test for you next time if there's anything that I can do as a single lady with a teeny icebox, not living near a BIG supermarket (but with small Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and Sainsburys close) who has already done her monthly shop!!! No problem for you to find me something I'm sure.

    Hi,

We've been dipping in and out of the plan.

Have enjoyed the onion tart, pizzas (on numerous occassions), pasta dishes and the carrot cake is a firm favourite now - DD age 13 starts to make it when we run out!

I've had a nosey at the web site and have to say that I'm impressed. I like the way you've included the costings and whether the meals are meat or veg - this will make it very adaptable for varied menus and lurkers like me.

I can't wait to try more of the meals.

No you didnt at all- I was just worried that I sounded like I was focussed on the wrong aspect i.e making money for you rather than getting the plan out.

By live I mean if I google it will it come up, so on the general web.

Seriously Weezl I do think you should consider a book thoughxxxxxx

Sorry, I haven't managed to be around much for the last week (family-related, prefer not to post details on a public forum). Firstly, well done to those who managed to see the plan right through - you're awesome!
While not doing the whole thing, we've had a go at the majority of the dinners, and will continue to eat some of them in future. I've always thought we're pretty frugal. Our monthly household budget (food, cleaning, cat food) is £125. This month, even not doing the plan in full, we've saved about £25 - and that's after I bought a bumper pack of toilet rolls on special offer. My motivation isn't debt reduction - unless you count the kind shown in my signature. Frugality is a powerful tool on many levels.
I'll continue to test plan 3 recipes whenever I am able, and look forward to discovering some more "future favourites".
Oh, and fantastic job on the website Weezl. It's beautiful.

erm... sandra I live in Cardiff! Have I accidentally been receiving the glory from someone elses site? :rotfl:

I meant to put Cardiff. Don't know what made me put Bristol!! I am full of cold, so I guess thats my excuse. It was your site I was looking at, so the glory is all yours.

    chickpea+crumble.jpg

As promised here is the instant oat version of the Chickpea Crumble
    Serves 4

    1tbsp rapeseed oil
1 small onion (approx 100g), chopped
    225g potatoes, scrubbed and sliced
400g tin tomatoes (I rinsed out the can with about 2cm of water)
    425g tin chickpeas
    black pepper
    1 tsp garam masala
    half a tsp mustard

    Crumble
    75g plain white flour
    25g instant oats cereal
    40g rapeseed oil
    25g salted peanuts

Saute the onion, and potatoes for 2 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes. Add the garam masala and mustard. Simmer gently with lid on for 20 minutes until potatoes are soft.

Crumble – Break up peanuts a little (put in bag and roll over rolling pin to break up). Mix oil into flour and instant oats and 2 tbsp water and stir until all the oats is dissolved. Stir in the peanuts, breaking them up a little with the back of a spoon. Stir the chickpeas into the tomato sauce, season with black pepper to taste. Put into a ovenproof dish and top with the crumble. Bake at 190C/375F/Gas 5 for about 40-45 minutes.

Tastes just like the one made with rolled oats!

Please note the crumble did cover the whole top, its just the tomato sauce has boiled over it on one side!

Weezl that looks great:T:T Easy to use and spelt out simply for everyone. I also liked the fact that you put which had meat, veggie and vegan (wont tell ex he was vegan for some meals though:rotfl:). Great pics as well time well spent you (and your dad) should be very proud.
