cheers CBM,
That's a really interesting link! The OP has quite a clear non-negotiable there too:
I am single and am struggling to get my weekly food bill under £35 per week. I need to cover lunch at work aswell as I don't want to spend money unnecessarily.
The only proviso is that I will not eat cheap meat or unethical eggs.
Any menu help would be greatly appreciated.
sounds like cyril will appreciate planners 2 and 3! Must press on!
Recovery from bean sprout gatemeans our next phase is to look in more detail at planner 3.
I also have questions for the month one testers, please.
Where you had left over food, do you mostly think this is because your family chose not to eat certain things, or have I provided too much of a particular ingredient?
Frankie you mentioned onions and potatoes, did you guys make thje soup, or did no-one fancy it? Sorr for all the questions, just need to know if I'm causing any waste for shirl!
Snacks wise, did everyone make the scones and savoury bites and how did they go down?
I don't know if people remember, but we had 2 routes we could go down for snacks, and we plumped for the scones for ease, but we can do other scones if shirl prefers.
I think we're split as a team between savoury and sweet snacks..
Frankie et all liked the sweet scones but not the cheese ones.
Aless and mr Aless preferred more in the way of savoury snacks...
Any thoughts from anyone else on what Shirl might want/need?
We'll leave the scones up on the website for now, because we know this works

If you go Weezl's blog page, on the right under LINKS, listed first as cheap family recipes.:D
Thanks Jenny
I think I was looking to hard for it
It does look fantastic Weezl:T
Bedtime for me now... nighty nite
Edit... Weezl, if you need anything checked out in Asda, let me know, as I can go in on my break tonight/tomorrow0 -
Your website looks fantastic Weezl! :T
You should be very proud of yourself
I am still reading this thread and am looking forward to some vegetarian recipes in the next planners.

Wow the website is awesome, gorgeous photos and encouraging, enthusiastic, non-condescending writing, yay. Am going to be trying lots of new veggie and vegan recipes, but am not organised enough to commit to giving 'formal' feedback, sorry.....0

Thanks Potty, that would be fab! in your local asda, imagine you're Kitty and you're getting the fresh fruit for a week for 4 people. You're aiming to get the bags of 'soft citrus' but ideally you want to get nets with the largest number of fruit.
what's the least Kitty will get away with spending in your store. (Jenny has also had a look at this, and I'm keen to know how it fares in other parts of the country too)
ie Kitty needs 7 (days) x 4 (people) worth of fruits, ie 28 fruits, if you found 2 nets of 9 and one of 10 she'd have managed it with just 3 nets :T:T:T However if the best your asda has is 4s she'll have to buy 7 nets:(:(:(:(:(
Hope this makes sense!

weezl - we loved the cheesey scones chez Aless. We also love the sweet scones, carrot cake & oaty raisin slices. DH likes the apple cake but I don't think it's apple-y enough to go to the effort
. I think we like a mix of sweet AND savory snackies - it was just when ALL the snacks were sweet that I moaned a bit
.
Can you just confirm the shopping list on The Website is up to date and I will use that? Prolly would be tomorrow as DH is off so can mind Finn.
Website looks awesome...possibly the only thing I can think of is a note on why you're using ASDA for the shopping list and possibly a disclaimer that you're not affiliated or endorsing them in any way? Oh and I found a dead link or two, but I'm being very picky and pedantic...did I mention that managing the website was my favorite part about work? :rotfl:top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

shopping list is up to date aless and now has a disclaimer that taka and allegra would be proud ofif you could break it down into weekly that would be fab
the broken links, was it when you tried to use the 'breadcrumb' at the top?
I'm sure you know what this means, but in case not it's the bit of navigation that goes:
planners > option one > recipe
type thing, MSE has one at the top too.
if it was that, I've recoded it now so should work ok, fingers crossed. But thanks loads for your diligence in spotting that, :T:T:T and if there are any more, please keep them coming
Should the asda non-endorsement be above the shopping list, rather than hidden away in 'costings'?
I'm spotting typos too and trying to annihilate them
Please no-one feel this is picky to tell me these things, I feel my own faith in a website dwindles immediately if Isee bad spelling or grammar or broken links, so I would hate that to be a stumbling block for shirley

weezl Had a quick peek at the new website. It looks great. Very easy to navigate and very clear to read.
In regards potatoes and onions, I only made one batch of the soup. DH and I liked it, but not the children. I haven't had any waste in that area though, because I did what you suggested and put them in net bags in the garage so they will get used over the next month.0 -
sorry being dull doubt but where is the website lolNerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0
