How terrible to be going through this - especially at Easter

I know you may feel completely cheeky in doing this, but when I was little my my dad was away on Business and had stupidly taken all of his cards etc with him so there was no money available in the house to buy food. My mum went to the local courner shop, where admittedly she had been going evey day for about 10 years, explained the situation and the lady in the shop allowed her to have the goods now and give her the money a week or so later in return for a bottle of wine. Is this possible?
Is it possible to have a quiet word with the lovely old lady on the courner of the street - ask if she happens to have any tins etc in return for maybe a hour of ironing? Taking them to visit XYZ in your car rathe than on the bus, something?! Can imagin a lot of old dears would completely sympathise with your situation and try and help out.
Also check out the thrift board.
If you happen to live in Sutton in ashfield - which you probs dont, I will happily get some food to you

This has probably come up already, but goto the supermarkets late, i tend to find the stir fry section is always on offer, big bags for 10-50p enough to feed to a few people, although personally a veg only stir fry doesn't satisfy my hunger very well (not enough taste).
What ever you do. !DO NOT GET A PAYDAY LOAN! - This will make things much worse, many people can vouch for this.
I do agree with the above statements including to check your balance . My supermarkets have cash machines close, use them to check your balance if you are so far into your overdraft.
One question that has not come up yet, is you mention the overdraft is full which is why it is declined. May i ask do you have any other credit (loans/credit cards) and how large is the overdraft. Can't buy food is a big panic but if the overdraft limit is only £200 isn't not a major debt issue.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Another thought Is it possible to talk to the bank, hope you get through to a compasionate person and hope they are able to increase your overdraft, even by just £20 just to help you?Learning to be 'good with money'0

Hope she's alright.

Do you have a cheque book? and even better with a guarantee card.
I know my local garage will take a cheque without a guarantee card providing they recognise you(except fuel).
The smaller the business the better as they need the business, just say youve lost your card and cant get any cash till tuesday. Good chance they bank once a week so you'll probably be ok.
You could always get up at 5 and do the milk and bread run
(not that I ever have, not since I was 14 anyway)
No I hope you sort something out.

Yes where IS the OP? Out foraging for nuts and berries?
You forgot looking for roadkill too.
Seriously though, there are kids involved so it's not a good position to be in.
I hope there's a good reason for it so that it doesn't happen again next month.
Isn't there an organisation that gives out food parcels? Food bank or something like that?
