OP could send a private message to anyone who is near to them, or anyone else for that matter. You don't have to broadcast it.

    about 8 easter eggs,

It might be a little late now, but can you send all your children round to a friend's house with one of the easter eggs as a present for their friend, just before lunchtime, and hope they get invited to stay for a free meal?

Anyway, it sounds like you've got the makings for quite a lot of soup. Bread & jam for breakfast, soup for lunch, value tattie & beans for dinner.

Could the children make anything handicraft-y and sell them round the neighbours? Or do car washing or grass cutting?
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

I think you have got so many good ideas here and I'm sorry that you've had to go through this. Do you still have the £50 available in the bank? Have you actually checked your account? I'm wondering if you only spent what was actually in the account instead of including the overdraft that it would be approved. Or go to the bank and withdrawl what you can for food. I apologize if you've already stated you did this....there are so many pages here.

Aldi's and Lidil's have some really cheap meals. But with your flour and cheese (can't remember if you have sauce) you can make some cheese pizza's...always a hit with kiddos.

I also realize that you're working really hard trying to get your finances on track but have you done a statement of affairs to help see where you can squeeze some more money from and save on other things you're spending on?

I wish you all the best hun

Aaahh how lovely! In a Catholic church you'd be given a plate and expected to put cash on it!

How ridiculous. What a stupid bigoted comment to make. If you can't contribute to positive discussion how about leaving alone? I know many people who have been helped out by organisations of many different faiths. Grow up.

Crabman, do you know anything about the potato famine and just what the church did to families in that era? It was a tongue in cheek comment and I would suggest you nip to Tescos and purchase something called a sense of humour. Dont just pick one of Poos posts, read the others she has written on this thread.

My point is that places such as churches and charitable organisations exist to help those in the OP's situation. It is not productive or helpful to make a (what you claim to be a 'tongue in cheek') comment that may put the OP off what may be a helpful course of action.

hi op know how you feel been there lots of times i know someone mentioned soup kitchens but i would avoid them if you can as there some shady characters that hang round there and you got to protect your kids having a look at what you said you got in your cupboards you can make no end of things hope you get yourself sorted
Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you
  • Just a few suggestions for places to maybe find money when you think there's none left!!:

Penny jar (Sainsburys machines give you it back in money or as money off your shopping)
Nectar points - to get money off
Kid's school bags (you wouldn't believe how much money kids have from the change from school lunches etc!!)
Gift Cards for local shopping centres (if your local shopping centre has a supermarket the majority of these places accept the centres gift cards - bought a few meals on kids 'left over' cars from Christmas when they presumed there wasn't any money left on them...their monetary status can be checked online!!)

Might not help anybody but you never know....we've never starved yet from using these steps!!!
June 2012 Clydesdale Loan=[STRIKE]£12620[/STRIKE]£1246.47- (only 5 payments left but just received £3955 back from it for PPI!!!)
