    Hi everybody
I promised myself I wouldn't spend this month especially in boots and managed to keep myself away for a whole week BUT there have been a few emergency items I needed which I've managed to gain without spending my own money.
Feria hair dye-sis offered to pay so I didnt resist. £5.79
Bic razors and small mirror for hospital bag-£2.49& £1.19-Mum paid.

    BUT

The bodyshop makeup glitch was too tempting and I really, truly ,desperately wanted to try the shimmer cubes for ages and I did need eyelash curlers and concealer so I placed an order....or 2.:o
    Love can tame the wildest
  • Hi everyone, I got a bit fed up yesterday as I tried yet again to write down everything that I've got in my stash but it got too overwhelming. I've got 61 opened products alone, and that's just toiletries not hair products or facial skin care or makeup. I knew one of my downfalls was shower gels but I counted 38 of these (36 unopened), and there are still more in gift sets in another wardrobe that I haven't got to yet. :o

I have decided to concentrate on using up all my opened products first as 1) I will hopefully finish them quicker and its good for the soul to see empty bottles appearing, and 2) I don't want things to go off.

I threw away five bottles of random stuff yesterday, including a half full bottle of Clarins moisturiser, as they all either smelt funny or had "split" in the bottles and didn't look right.

So instead of concentrating on the mountain of stuff I have to use, I will make myself feel better by making lists of what I have used up. In my first week on this challenge I have used up:

Virgin Vie Rosehip & Honey Body Milk
Boots Mediterranean Honey, Fig & Vanilla Bath Foam
    Pantene Nature Fusion Conditioner
Dentyl Mouthwash - the clove flavour one
Original Source Bath Foam - White Tea & Grapefruit
    Timotei Conditioner for coloured hair
Boots Aromatherapy body scrub (mini size)

I have given away a mini Dove body wash and moisturiser, to a friend who loves Dove more than me - and I might just send 2 or 3 more her way - I don't think I will miss them lol :rotfl:

I have thrown away five bottles of stuff that had gone off.

So 14 things gone in week, one way or another. I feel quite positive about that. The only thing I have bought is a replacement of the mouthwash - which I knew I would have to buy when I started the challenge - so £3.09 or something spent.

Melonade - I also have been having internet problems for the last 24 hours or so and was getting withdrawal symptoms from not being able to read this thread! Its addictive or what!! :rotfl:

Hi ladies and welcome all the newbies.

Toiletries wise used up an eye make up remover so am on my final one, i use the No7 one and buy when there is a voucher making it £2 Wiba, yes great product and cheap too, unless someone can recommend a cheaper one that just as good or better?
Darn, I forgot PYNM and tuesday!

Nails are a bit of a state actually, flaking again :( I'll have a shape and handcream session tonight instead.

I finished the sample of By Terry moisturiser, and no, its not for me. too heavy for the time of year too. My friend and I walked dogs together this morning and she asked what was wrong with my face: it was greasy and shiny because the stuff wouldn't sink in.

would eyecream help the back of hands?

    !

Snipped, i was once told to use excess eye cream around/on the delicate lip area by a ysl consultant, so i do that and the back of hands thing.

trudi, I know the feeling lol. I overdone it with the body butter the other night and had to wash it off my legs after 10 minutes in bed. The quilt cover stuck to me everytime I rolled over
I go to aqua fit and this week put body butter on before I went....big mistake:eek::eek::eek:I kept falling off the woggle(sort of tube float we use) as it was so slippy:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

just been bad and ordered a half price Cinema perfume with free postage from half price perfumes...bit annoyed tho as a/ when I tried to go through Quidco the item was not on the site and b/ each time I got to check out the site vanished and i had to call them!

I s someone casting spells to stop me spending????

I love this stuff so sophisticated, i forgive you:D not sure if anyone else will give you lines though.

Hello ladies. Some good news to report today which has lifted my spirits a little bit.

I had to go into the dreaded Boots to buy some toiletry bits for OH this morning. As I walked in I noticed one of the nice SA's on the till, so I took a deep breath, picked up what OH wanted and decided to try and exchange the bits I have been carrying around with me for weeks. :embarasse

I am happy to say that she kindly exchanged the four handbag sized tubes of John Frieda Frizz Ease and an Umberto Giannini Instant Beauty Makeover Spray for me. So that's a few more bits from the stash gone, £1.39 added to my giftcard and OH is happy for a change. :o
Ooh well done babafette, i always hate returning stuff even when i have a receipt.

    Nab

    xx

I finally opened the horrifically expensive Guerlain cream (note to newbies, I did NOT buy this, it was given to me to test) and felt it shoud have been accompanied by trumpet fanfares as I worked my way through the cellophane, slip cover, beribboned lid and little drawer in the box where the tiny spatula is kept - perish the thought the contents should be sullied by a finger! It is the heaviest jar ever - none of this cheap plastic malarky, no, this is thick glass, with a metal lid, heavy enough to be the seventh murder weapon in Cluedo.

Thanks to the ridiculous price, I so wanted this cream to be horrible, I wanted to be allergic to it, I wanted to hate the smell, I wanted it to feel no different to Nivea. No. It had to be absolutely gorgeous, didnt it. It just had to leave my skin moisturised all day. The other problem is, I have to test this on one side of my face so I can compare the resutls - if this stuff works, I'm going to have beautifully plump velvety skin on one side and a face like a bag of hammers on the other.

    I shall keep you updated...

enjoy using it but when you are done can you post on this thread that it was a total waste of money and you could see no difference what so ever between the 2 sides of your face;)

i opened a new body scrub last night it was total pants. it was a green jelly like slime with such a miniscule amount of scrub in it i could hardly feel it. it was as if someone had got 1/2 pint of childrens slime products (you know the stuff little boys like playing with) and put about 1 teaspoon of sand in it, then poured it into a fancy pot. i'll double check the name when i warn you all not to bother.

glad you got your stuff swapped ok babafette

Well, by accident I have used up a Lush bath bomb thing. Got into the bath, reached above me to put my book on the shelf and knocked off a bomb from the arrangement above me that landed with a big thud on my head and then a plop into the bath!
Not really fussed on them but hey-ho that's another one gone at least!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, i think good karma will be on its way to you for making giggle

I am SO close to finishing many things..... hopefully by tonight I will have lots to report!!!!
Can't wait to take some new bits out of my stash.

However, I no longer get pleasure looking at my stash, I just see lots of debt and I am scared that some things will go off before I get to them. I keep thinking that I will use the good and 'more expensive' stuff first, but then I don't want to leave the 'less nice' stuff to last.
Ho hum... I will get there in the end....

Must say still love looking at the stash:o, how about ebaying some off it, making gift hampers for birthday presents etc etc, so it doesnt go to waste.
How effective is shampoo as a handwash? Thinking of refilling he handwash container with some of the shampoo stash...........

I would like to know this also.

Also Debidoodle ao sorry for the loss you and your family have endured and wish all some peace and strength during this dark period of your lives.

Tara necklace is cool very bohemian and im sure you looked fab at the wedding:)

Also hugs and good thoughts to all that need them

    Afternoon ladies

Have finally caught up with all the chit chat.

Been a bit awol as DH's brother passed away easter Monday, he was suffering so much it was a relief and now he is at peace. DH is coping remarkably well as is my SIL, although she never got to bring him home. Funeral will be some time next week.

So sorry to hear that debi, hugs to you and your OH and SIL xoxo

I didn't win it (sob). I was actually posting here at the time, I'd been watching it and then just popped in here to post with a few mins to go... and missed the end of the auction by 1 minute. :(:(:( *cry* But never mind, it saved me money!! It'll also put me off buying jewellery for ages as I won't find anything I like that much, so it'll save me even more. I'm such a stubborn goat like that! Does anyone else do the same?

Erm, well, went to the Dentist this afternoon and happened to pop into Boots. The thing is, I was not feeling myself (fillings, injections etc) and some lovely fcuk pure stuff happened to pop into my basket along with some stuff I needed for OH. No idea how it got there! But I did get double points and 150 bonus points, that's ok isn't it? :D Might have also bought a gorgeous maxi dress, belt and scarf in Peacocks too...no idea how that happened either :D

    Hi Kaz

I don't know if you found the answer you were looking for but I would translate at a guess exfolianting gel so to me that would say it was a body wash rather than a body lotion.
