I finished off two products yesterday:-

A full size pump bottle of MAC Prep and Prime which I obtained in a swap on makeupalley.com. It has lasted me a while but has not converted me. Whilst on holiday in Tenerife I bought a bottle of Smashbox Photo Finish Primer which I love and in case I couldn't find that I had taken a tube of Philosophy The Secret with me as I knew the MAC one was coming to an end. I like this product as well so when I eventually finish both products (shouldn't be for a long time as they are both full sizes and both full - The Secret I also obtained in a swap) it will be a case of whichever I can get cheapest. Plus by buying the Smashbox one now I hopefully won't be tempted by an QVC TSV's as these always have primer in them.

A sample size of TBS Tea Tree facial scrub. WIBA? - probably not. The only facial scrub I've found that really does anything for me is the Biore one. At the moment I have a full size tube of Neutrogena scrub and a travel sized tube of Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator to finish off so think I will be returning the Biore one after these have gone. Nothing particularly wrong with the TBS one but with such a small sample size you really can't tell any difference with a scrub can you? I find that I have to be using it for a while to notice any difference.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I was getting really low on conditioner, so I bought some half price conditioner this morning. I bought two bottles, pantene ice shine and....um, forgoton the other one, Dove I think, yes Dove. They are for the wash stage of conditioner only washing, so not gone for the normal type for my hair type. I hope they are good!
I'm staying well away from Pantene, even for conditioner-only washing, as it gives me spots on my scalp. Well, still have some left, but only using it very occasionally and interspersing with other stuff.

I've heard that Dove should be very good, though!

Thanks to the ridiculous price, I so wanted this cream to be horrible, I wanted to be allergic to it, I wanted to hate the smell, I wanted it to feel no different to Nivea. No. It had to be absolutely gorgeous, didnt it. It just had to leave my skin moisturised all day. The other problem is, I have to test this on one side of my face so I can compare the resutls - if this stuff works, I'm going to have beautifully plump velvety skin on one side and a face like a bag of hammers on the other.

Erm, well, went to the Dentist this afternoon and happened to pop into Boots. The thing is, I was not feeling myself (fillings, injections etc) and some lovely fcuk pure stuff happened to pop into my basket along with some stuff I needed for OH. No idea how it got there! But I did get double points and 150 bonus points, that's ok isn't it? :D Might have also bought a gorgeous maxi dress, belt and scarf in Peacocks too...no idea how that happened either :D
strange stuff they inject you with at dentists!....so what do you want grotty teeth,no toletries and no clothes or good teeth, toiletries and clothes???...seems like a no brainer to me....bring on the needle:rotfl:

(sorry to those amongst us who are being good....not me:eek:)

finished my YSL radience balm stuff(can't remember proper name and its upstairs!)WIBA yes yes yes and I have!it is far better than the Clarins balm, leaves my skin tingling in a nice way!costs £36:eek::eek::eek:but I buy when bonus time along with foundation.both have built in brush and I always manage to squeeze too much foundation so have saved empty radiance stuff to use the brush to apply foundation as same size and nice and soft so can squeeze foundation on my hand and so not get too much on my face(hope that makes sense!)

That might have been me? Its where you wash you hair with conditioner, not shampoo. I use shampoo ''when I need it'' which varies but I find the least often the better for my very curly, prone to dry/frizz hair. DH has also been doing this (very similar hair type) and he has found it has helped his psoariasis too.

But I do need to be fresh and fragrant: I work with animals and would stink if I only washed hair weekly or so! So I wash my hair without shampoo, using a conditioner, daily usually which is enough to keep my hair clean and fragrant, let me refresh the curl. e.g. this morning after mucking out and walking too sets of dogs my hair was windblown and stinky, so as soon as I jumped in the shower I put some of he conditioner in my hair and rubbed scalp, as if with shampoo, let it sit in tere while I get on with washing myself, then rinse hair and use a conditioner actually for my hair type (I tend to use one for normal/ish hair for the ''shampoo'' bit, and for dry or curly hair for the second one).

Did anyone listen to radio 2 this afternoon? About 2.30 they were discussing how many people buy too much stuff. It was quite interesting but I only managed to catch a couple of minutes so I don't know how long it went on for.

LOL, sounds familiar!!! Must try to find a podcast and post the link here.

    That sounds gorgeous rosemary.

Welcome fozziebeartoo, that is amazing weight loss, congrats. :T

I thought I would finish my Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion this morning but no such luck, the evil stuff lives on another day!! I really don't like it very much but, since everyone else seems to swear by it, I am going to persevere with the dregs of the bottle. I got it on the clearance shelf for about £2.40 so it wasn't too much of a waste of money.

  • Hi everyone, I had a lovely pampering bathtime yesterday - some Lush Comforter bubble bar and Lush Strawberry Santa Shower Jelly. Then afterwards Body Shop Passion Fruit body butter and I have to say my skin feels very soft and silky today, and I can still smell the fragrance as well. :)

Babafette - thanks so much for the encouragement, by using up my opened stuff I can at least see quicker results. As you so rightly said, just by being here we have made a first step about wanting to change things!

Debidooble - sorry to hear your sad news, hope you and your family are ok.

Fozzie - like you, I'm also tackling my opened products first - my unopened stash is too scary. Well done on losing so much weight! :T

I really liked the idea someone had a few pages back about making little gift bags of travel size toiletries and give it in at our local hospitals. Sorry I can't remember who said it, but I did thank them! I think that is an excellent idea and it will help me tackle my stupidly huge "travel size" stash. Goodness knows why I have ended up with so many minis - if I have one short holiday a year then I'm lucky!

    Bye for now,
    love Candice xx

Morning ladies & all our new friends :D

Thankyou for all the kind messages :A

Judgejac are you testing for the Beauty Bible panel, I have tested the last 3 times and have had some lovely high end products to test.

fozziebeartoo congratulations on the weight loss :j

Tara747 DD loves Palmer's and the smell, she has dry skin on her body and says that it really helps.

Used up an Urban Retreat cleanser WIBA yes I would but don.t think they are producing it any more.

Now starting BNatural cleanser from Tesco's, I bought 3 for £1.30 each so a bargain.

Huge made a huge dent in my stash from Ebay sales, birthday hampers for friends & family, I can now store it all in the bathroom cupboards so that is a bonus.

Will be colouring my hair over the weekend for the grand sum of £1.00 from the pound shop instead of the usual £50.00 that i used to pay at the hairdressers.
