No Buying Toiletries in April Challenge!
Comments
-
In the last week I have finished two hand washes - bog-standard Boots one & a lovely S&G one which I would buy in a heartbeat, but it is now discontinued (blueberry smell). Started the last S&G handwash (lime smell) & a 50p Boots sale-shelf one.
Also another bottle of mouthwash (but I had lots of help as all the kids were home, they also used a lot of DH's shower gel).
I've been complaining about the never-ending S&G body butter, but have to confess it would be used up by now if I actually remembered to use it EVERY time I had a shower/bathmust do better!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

How about never buying toiletries again?
All those chemicals readily absorb into your skin, let alone into our water supply. they are ridiculously expensive considering we evolved for thousands of years without them; our skin can do a perfectly good job of cleaning itself.
Cleaning maybe but what about pampering, anti-ageing and dyeing grey roots, etc

I think its very important we look at what chemicals we are using, not just on ourselves but in homes and industry too. But to suggest that cleaning in any from has not coincided with longer life expectancy etc is not true either.0 -
Please would someone tell me what WIBA means?
Thank you.0 -

Hello newbies (i still think of myself as a newbie so seems weird saying this!) this is such a friendly thread and i hope you all embrace the challenge wholeheartedly! which leads to a confession...
i received my bodyshop bargain stash yesterdayand although i did give some away to parents and sisters as a belated easter present (chocolate doesn't go down well in our house - more of a savoury tooth!) i ended up with a few bottles for myself!
so...i've bought in some half empty moisturisers and lotions in bottles to work so all the girls can have some creams for their hands on their desks during the day (and make space at home for my new bits hehe)
i think we have a problem with the toner in the printers here, as we can go through buckets of handcremes between us (usually it's just me and one other with it on our desks) when the paperwork stacks up! why I have never thought of this before astounds me! i feel so happy to be lightening the load!0 -

Oooh we're in the weekly email. I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed!
Welcome to any newbies who get this far. Right, I'm off for a bath now and to see what else I can use up. I think I'll manage to finish off the little tube of evening primrose lotion if I completely slather myself.
We're starting to rip down our bedroom walls atm so I will definately be in need of extra moisturiser etc to combat the effects of 105 year old plaster dust!
Hope you have a fab holiday Bronnie, see you when you get back.
Make up, that's another thing, I don't think there would ever be anyone on a use up make up thread because it lasts for so long! I'm now at the eye of a one step face base from virgin vie so I'll have to open a new one sometime within the next 6 months!
Keep pampering ladies (and gents!).....
ETA: That's it used up. WIBA?: Nah. Hate the smell. I have a vera wang foamy body polish "gel exfoliant moussant pour le corps" does anyone know whether this is a lotion or a wash? I'm off to google and see if I can find out but hope you could help?
