Thanks again FF; I'd seen that offer but I thought I had no chance of getting a contract iPhone so was saving up the £440.40 for the PAYG 3GS from 02.

Update: Just checed the tarriffs and 02 would work out cheaper still...thanks anyway!!

Thanks Irrelevant! But it does seem too good to be true! Natasha... do you have any info on this switching back with your existing number? i.e. getting pac code how Irrelevant mentions?

    Thank you

FYI: I asked about what is a "new customer" and this is the answer I received from TopCashBack.

    Hi there,

We made some enquiries with the network who host this merchant's programme with regards to this and were advised with the following info:

"You would need to register as an entirely new customer with different email address in order to get this. If you log in and upgrade their account this won’t track"

I logged into my account (am an existing customer) and took out a new contract as a 2nd line and not an upgrade, so I now have 2 contracts with O2 but under the same account. Would this be eligible?

Topcashback seemed to think so when I asked them but it contradicts slightly with the above?
  • Hi guys got please keep informed on progrss of cashback ,is 7-14 days to be expected?
  • The existing customer issue seems quite simple - just register a new contract (with a new number) and you're fine, regardless of any other contract or PAYG you may also have. Quidco confirmed this was the case. I guess you could order 10 contracts and you'd get 10 cashbacks!

I suspect you could transfer the number across later (unlike with Vodafone where you have to do it when you take out the new contract) but no doubt this will have been discussed on another thread somewhere.

But doesn't TopCashBack need the exact same email address you used to register with them (TCB) for the purchase with O2 for the tracking to work?

    Hi guys,

The offer is available to anyone (even existing o2 customers) signing up to a NEW contract via Topcashback's link.

Topcashback has confirmed the £25/month iPhone and Smartphone packages do qualify (even though it says £20 + £5 data for the latter on the o2 site - it still has a £25 monthly cost). Topcashback is asking o2 if it can do anything to make this clearer on its site.

    Thanks,

    Natasha

I have a copy of my shop at 16.40 and it states:

Tariff Online simplicity 25 - iphone Sim only £25
    Tariff includes
    Unlimited Data & Wi-Fi FREE

So maybe they have changed it now.

    Thanks

I went for a similar deal through Quidco. They too had a ' 1 day special '. Anyone else sign up for the £25pm for 1200mins (£8.33pm after cashback). Initially tracked for £25 but Quidco say will be adjusted before payout.

O2 had a good cashback deal going with a compnay called EXPRESS MOBILES....I checked with o2 prior to accepting the contract and O2 backed the company as being good for cashback deal.....I signed up and the company went bust and O2 didnt want to know ..they blacklisted me as I stopped my direct debit ...O2 stated nothing to do with them but upon investigation other forum posts showed O2 where aware of that company having problems .long before I took out the contract...when i checked with O2 about the legitimacy of this company prior to taking out the contract I and others where informed that they where good company....O2 also confirmed in email that they received my call about the legitamacy of this company and my concerns...DONT GO FOR IT ...I strongly advise you not to .....(as at that time after informing trading standards)..... TRADING STANDARDS ADVISED that if I take O2 to court O2 will win on the grounds that I stopped paying rental and no legitimate excuses for the judge of non payment could be presented by me as it was an open and closed case of non payent of contrct terms...... ...but and this is the bit ...but TRADING STANDARDS ADVISED THAT if O2 take me to court they would loose on the grounds that they would have been found to have a moral obligation and responsiblity to customers ..... Additionally O2 would have to justify their dealings with this company in endorsing this company and allowing this company to continue to sell contracts and phones to customers knowing that EXPRESS MOBILES where in difficulties.... so according to TRADING STANDARDS that in the eyes of the law O2 would be found to be legally having a moral responsiblity to its customers for this company and O2 s lack of action to protect innocent customers. ...the PUNCH LINE is that O2 never took anyone to court for non payment but tried forcing them through threats and harassment of court action .....if the customer refused to pay O2 the outstanding balance which in my case was 375 pounds with no cash back.......Failure to pay this resulted in O2 blacklisting people which effected their credit rating ..... I am blacklisted by O2 and my credit rating has been hit by this until I pay them 375 pounds with no cash back money at all ....SO PLEASE PLEASE ......really beware please ,,,,Micky !!!!!!!!!
....FINALLY THE REAL PUNCH LINE OF ALL.........I RANG O2 asking them to take me to court so as we could get a conclusion. and get it sorted .......THEY REFUSED TO TAKE ME TO COURT......BEWARE .......REALLY IF IT LOOKS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT IS ...Micky ...
