Is this just me, when I've made chocolate fudge, or brownies etc, and the chocolaty smears are all around the pan, I pour some of my morning coffee in, from the cafetiere, warm gently and sloosh it all around. Makes a lovely mocha! Why should the dishwasher get all the nice left overs!
I would just get a teaspoon and scrape all the nice bits into my mouth - that's if the children don't beat me to it:rotfl:0 -

My dogs go mad for these, as soon as they hear a paper bag rustle from the fridge they appear at my side, think these are a real treat....probably not real money saving but better than in the bin! There is no issue so small that it can't be blown out of proportion0 -
One thing my mum does
When the hand towel out of the bathroom has seen better days, it is transferred downstairs to the kitchen to be used (god help anyone seen drying their hands on a tea towel lol) and then when it has done its job in the kitchen it is then used as a floor cloth (again never!! use a dishcloth for the floor! my god the amount of times I got caught as a child grabbing the wrong one.....) lolBeen here for a long time and don't often post

My daughter regularly wears 3 or 4 outfits in a day, especially during school hols.Through constant nagging i have at least got her to put washing in her laundry basket instead of hanging it on the floor, but when I come to sort the washing out the majority of it is still clean and probably only been tried on or at most worn a couple of hours. Now i give it a once over for stains, have a quick sniff and if it looks and smells fine it gets folded and put back in her room.Saves water, electric, and washing powder and she is no wiser.
i probably cut her share of the washing down by at least half this way, and she thinks her mum is super duper efficient as she gets her stuff back washed and folded etc in no time.;)

Sorry to be crude but I just get the image of you smelling her knickers and she walks in on you doing it0 -
My mam and I have been swapping two gift bags back and forwards at Christmas for years now. This year i get snowman back and she gets Santa again.
I charge my ipod and phone at work under the desk.
I wear my dressing gown around the house, all day, over my clothes when its cold.
If there are people handing out freebies in the street. ill go back at least 3 times for more, and i'm really annoyed if I don't manage to get more than one.
I got three free boxes of andrex moist toilet tissue at the weekend, had to rope my BF in for that one though, he couldn't believe how excited i was over some free toilet roll. He said I was doing a little excited dance! ( i dont remember that part though!)It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

When an electrical item breaks,I take it to bits for the parts.
My garden has fridge shelf tents to protect the plants from birds.
We have some huge magnets from an old microwave and the glass turntable is a serving dish.
Wow! You have just given me an AWESOME idea for a cake stand (going to attack the broken microwave at work). THANK YOU!!!
OK I know the original post was 3 years ago but still!0 -

My mum goes one better than this......she has a collection of gift bags and when she gives us a present in one you don't even get to open it before she's saying 'I want that bag back when you've opened it!!'0 -
Have just read through this entire thread since I found it linked on the Sneaky Ways thread! It's brilliant!
I'm glad to know my family weren't the only ones doing all these OS things.
One thing I don't think I read was saving the bacon fat ... my Mum always drained it out of the grill pan into a special sort of stoneware jam jar she kept in the fridge. And then it was used later for fried eggs or fried bread to give them a yummy bacony taste.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

She insists she cant possibly use cheap nasty shampoo and conditioner on her hair, and insisted on chucking a particular (expensive brand in the trolley). I let her get away with this the once and over the past year have been refilling it with asda own brand stuff. I cant help sniggering to myself as she carries the shampoo and conditioner back and forth between her bedroom and bathroom so that us lesser mortals don't use up her "good " shampoo.....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
