Ok ok I do most of the things included here but my DP reckons I am the only person who.....................
Cleans entire carpets with lint rollers to remove the dog hairs etc........am I?Or is someone else as obsessed about dog hair as I am
I hate it, I love having pets but I have to vacuum several times a day then on carpets it just doesn't get enough hair up, as I prove with the amount I take off. I do sometimes do the whole carpet with sticky tape wrapped round my hand or with a rubber glove but I have myself a friction burn on my hand last time I did the whole carpet with a glove and made a hole in the glove so the rollers back out to save my hands.
I have got a great rubber long handled broom (JML wonderbroom) which is fantastic for wood, carpet and tiles like a mop. I have a black cat and cream carpets - they can easily look filthy but using this really works and can also be used wet on tiles etc, saves on all the bending down. The manual labour saves on using the hoover and the heating! My mum converted me she already had two!0 -
I do lots of the above things as a hang over from my parents.
My recent, very MSE idea was gleaned from my sister though (who isn't the most thrifty in the world)
She had bought, from "pampered chef" a bottle that she adds about 2 inches of handwash and then tops up with water- the "magic" bottle foams it up when you use it- ideal for kids who use loads of handwash (to not wash properly:rotfl: ).
I took it to a new level- DD2 had some Kandoo foaming shampoo (from home bargains). I have recycled the bottle (very dureable and a nice pump) to make a foaminghandwash bottle and it works a dream!!
Now I need to find/make a "foamy fish" to put the dog ends of soap and solid shampoo in- DS had a Lush shampoo bar but he has broken it up and you can't use it.0 -

So far so good on the hard floors, instead of 'moving hair around' as the other normal brooms do it seems to cling to it, making it easier. Going to try it on the carpets tomorrow then test how good it is with the lint roller :rotfl:One day I might be more organised...........

We used to have one when I was a kid- a bath sponge fish with a pocket in it to stuff bits of old soap in- dip it, give it a squeeze and 1970s equivalent of foaming shower gel!!0 -
Is this just me, when I've made chocolate fudge, or brownies etc, and the chocolaty smears are all around the pan, I pour some of my morning coffee in, from the cafetiere, warm gently and sloosh it all around. Makes a lovely mocha! Why should the dishwasher get all the nice left overs!

easy to make a foamy fish. Get a large sponge (mine bought from semi-chem for 30p) and some netting fabric (the open weave wash bags are good or a large body puff, again about 50p semi-chem). Make a 2 inch cut into the side of the sponge down into the middle. Get a dessert spoon and push this into the gap and wiggle it side to side to make the gap in the middle of the sponge bigger than the opening on the outside. Once done push your soap bits in and wrap the netting round the sponge and tie it in a knot on one of the largest sides of the sponge. Hey presto, foamy fishy. When you need to refill just untie the netting.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0
