    Debt-free and Proud!
Just thought of another thing that I do - home made wrapping paper. I have a huge roll of plain brown paper that I bought for mailing parcels. It's much thicker and better quality than poncey wrapping paper and I get the children to draw designs on it with silver or gold pens bought cheaply in a sale at a stationery shop.

  • Sounds like I will give it a go - what's TMF by the way?
Sorry, Try Me Free - look for the ones which have a sticker on saying if you don't find the product "heavenly" they will refund your money. On the Freebies board there is a sticky with lots of other Try Me Frees
    Hope that helps.
  • Just while I'm waiting for someone to explain TMF, I've done something so disgusting, I've shamed even myself....my housemate throws food away if it's past the sell-by date, even if it's absolutely fine. It breaks my heart, so today, I might have removed a packet of crisps from the bin and taken them to work with me.......
LMAO thanx for that. Hope they tasted good.:rotfl: :rotfl:

er dont know if anyone else has posted this, but:o i er cut my rubber gloves into different sized "elastic bands" once they have sprung a leak. Fingers make the small bands whereas the wrist part makes larger ones...

GAWD ...... sounds bad..... :D :embarasse

and i dont know if this is just me & our family were VERY poor or VERY TIGHT but i remember on the rare occasions we did have a meal out in a cafe if a person on another table were leaving their bread and butter my mom use to say "are u leaving that love, well have it" .... burning up here at the thought of it.

My mum used to do that in Pizza Hut but worse - she'd get her salad bowl, fill it up strategically - ie: never put lettuce on the bottom as it took up too much room - then cram it to way above the rim with everything she could.

Then she'd come back to the tables, put it on our plates and go back to the salad bar with empty bowl, with a scowl like she was a mum too harassed to answer anyone that dared sugest she'd already filled her bowl once... :p

Embarassing but it worked and the staff weren't bothered at the end of the day!

Everyone knows you only put the lettuce on last and pin it down with a strategically placed finger - it's needed for the packing that stops all those extra cherry tomatoes from rolling off the top of the heap.:D
