My mum and dad cut up empty cereal packets into strips and use them to write shopping lists. They also used to use them for notes / reminders around the house. When I was a uni, and the odd cheque used to arrive from the parents, it would always be accompanied with a note from dad written on the back of a cornflakes packet. It seemed prefectly normal to me as I had grown up with it, but my house mates thought it was hilarious!0

In fact dare I go a step further and say why don't you curl yours out on the compost heap also? It would save you water in flushing so much too!
Some people take this moneysaving thing just a tad to far...
You can only compost herbivore poo and not from meat-eaters so unless you happen to be vegan.....7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

I cut the top off empty tissue boxes and use them as drawer dividers in my make up and underwear drawers. OK they need replacing periodically but this is a good excuse to clear out these drawers.

Another good way of dividing up the underwear drawer is shoe boxes, adults ones for the stuff you have more of, children's boxes for smaller things. They are quite sturdy and don't really need replacing. This is also an environmentally friendly way of recycling cardboard!Just off the border of your waking mind, there lies another time ....0 -

Yeah but I'm not sure you could play the same trick with those kind of bags!Just off the border of your waking mind, there lies another time ....0 -

Dare you tell us?
I weigh pasta, rice etc. (to the gram!), this means that I don't waste cooked food. 150g of uncooked rice is plenty for me, OH and two toddlers once cooked.
I wash paper nappy liners (several times), the lady I buy them from recommends cleaning your car windscreen with them when they are past using as nappy liners, but I have never tried it so I can't vouch for effectiveness!
Oat bran makes good face scrub, especially for sensitive skin. Just mix a couple of teaspoons full with water and rub it on.
I use old ice cream tubs for holding water with a drop of bubble bath in to wash toddlers bottoms instead of using baby wipes. Wasn't trying to be frugal, just never got around to buying top and tail bowls, and they work just as well...
Worst habit (I think) is using the old bath water to rinse dirty cotton nappies in. I draw the line at syphoning this off to water garden with - don't fancy sucking on the hosepipe!
Glad to know I'm not completely strange!

my husband always says I am proof you can be too frugal
I use a miniature rolling pin from an old child's baking set to squeeze the last bits out of toothpaste tubes.
When there is only a little bit left in the cereal packet i empty it into the new packet. DH hates this but most of the crumbs go to the bottom of the new packet and you save the large edible bits that way.
Most obseesive money saving habit - when i make a batch of bol sauce I use two tins of tomatoes. I don't use the chopped ones because they are more exoensive but I zap the whole tomatoes in the food processor first. then I pour a little bit of water into one empty tin and swish it around to rinse it then pour it into the second tin and swish that around then finally pour it into the food processor bowl and rinse that. By the time I add it to the pan it is quite tomatoey so I feel I am getting the last bit of goodness out of the tin.
OK perhaps you can be too frugalIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
