Oh no! I'm gunna have to start being quicker
proshopper - with these fraudulent reports I do wonder if this stems from the perceived belief that bad reports will get you sacked. I have seen new shoppers openly say "so even if it's a bad report I have to say it's good" which is completely the wrong attitude.
Apparently not. I am led to believe that the reports are fabricated (rather than embroidered), in that briefs have not been followed, and in some cases, where proof of purchase is not needed, the visits have not even taken place. It seems that what we're looking at here is people who have got the idea that MSing is money for old rope. It was also mentioned that the agency had found people who had gone for multiple sign-ups to get round client rotation restrictions.
It's pretty awful really. It casts doubt over the integrity of the entire workforce.0 -

But at least the company are aware of it. I've always suspected that the system could be abused quite easily, but was not sure if the companies check or not.
On a better note, RE seem to have paid me for the bookies which was my word against the shop assistants for a bad report, and although GAP have decided not to pay me for the bad report on the burger job last week I havn't (yet) been sacked.
RE money in today as well.0 -

I haven't been sacked, but i wasn't going to lie about it.
Good for you. No point in giving false good reports. :T:T:TWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

It's OK Lil_Me, I'm happy to share all the jobs with you :rotfl:. Besides, as we already know, there's a large difference in our ages so that'll influence what we see a lot.
Remember he hasn't actually given me the iPhone yet, you've still got a while!

I have heard of this happening but hopefully the MS companies can tell the difference between a genuine MSer and a fraudulent one.0 -

I think we've probably all known/suspected that it happens from time to time. But this seems to be on a grander scale. That's what worries me, mostly because it is bound to lead to some sort of upheaval, maybe across the entire industry - more than just having to provide proof of ID/NI number, to register. If conventional MSing and MSers are put into disrepute, we could see a serious reduction in general work available: clients could go only for recorded or videoed visits, or move over to (recorded) exit interviews, etc.0 -

It's not BARE is it?
They spun me that yarn a while back when I queried why as a long-time experienced shopper I wasn't getting any jobs and that non were Self assign anymore.
They said fraud was a big problem so each job had to be assigned manually as opposed to self assigned which was why it takes soooooooooooo long to get assigned.
Thought they were just making excuses for their incompetence.
They said that shoppers don't get receipts (Simple, no receipt don't pay them!)
Shoppers don't visit the locations and make up the report (Simple, get a receipt or if non-purchase then business card, flyer et.c
Shoppers use Photoshop to doctor old reciepts (how desparate are these people:eek:)
Alledgedly this happens with experinced shoppers as well as the newbies.
TBHO if the company used some kind of vetting and personal allocators (as in the 'old' days ) instead of the cheaper-[easier to defraud] FFF then they may not have these problems.0 -
Have GYP stopped the 'Corner Shops' and the 'Seaside Petrol' as I have not seen any for months, only Burgers and Chickens !.0

I didn't think they had those details, hence why they send cash?
Can't see anything in my profile regarding bank details :question:0
