Wow, some of you are doing really well. Now bear in mind that I've only been starting this up again over the last 3 weeks or so, but how do you think you are managing to get all this work? Is it a case of taking everything on offer (no matter how low the fee) and then you get offered better jobs, is it just being with a few really good agencies who always have a lot of work on? Is it just down to where you live - there are a lot of shops that need doing? Or is it just simply a case of you've been doing it for a lot longer than 3 weeks, have proved yourself to be reliable and get the reports in on time etc and you get repeat work that way? What gives you the 'X-Factor'?!!!!!

I work full time and do MS'ing on the side as it were.. I have found that there is a lot of work in my area and I'm getting quite picky on what I take now... (London/se).. It seems to me that as soon as I decide I will do less, more comes along......don't think I've got the x factor but I do put 100% into every visit and report that I do.. probably average 3-4 calls a week for additional work...

I think I get a lot of work thanks to being reliable and subscribing to the alerts thread. I have a phone which receives emails directly, so I can get the alerts straight away.

Get regular phone calls from several companies asking me to do last minute jobs.

This week has been a quiet one though, only done 2 supermarkets and a toy shop. I've done the toy shop job 3 times since March, so I get a bit of a floor show lol

I have been ms for 7 years so I do get a fair few calls to do last minute jobs and that is when you can negotiate a good fee!

Don't feel you have to take every job going, I would say pick your agencies carefully. For instance, it won't matter how many jobs you do for RE, you won't get any preferential treatment! Concentrate on agencies that do seem to have jobs in your area and yes, you do end up getting repeat work! It may take a while but stick with it. Good luck x

Oh, forgot Saturday is a busy day, 8 egg shops, 2 supermarkets a travel agents and a phone shop.

I work full time too and the pay from these is almost three times what I get paid in a day at my full time job :)

I live in a city so there is lots of work, but it goes quickly!

I don't really bother with RE - picked that up quickly! I only ever do a job for them if I'm already in the immediate error; like Tuesday I did a job for TNS and got a cookie and hot chocolate courtesy of RE. Wished I didn't bother when I did the stupid questionnaire where you have to say yes or no and then repeat every question in the comment box

The phone is a good one; I'm 'negotiating' with DH to take over his iPhone as he wants a newer one and I think that will really help me as I miss a lot of emails/alerts otherwise.

I'm having difficulty booking visits with T-S, it says visits have to done over a weekend up until middle of June, but when I enter a weekend date in June it says I am unsuccessful. I see these visits have N/A where the dates should be on the list. Help please as I have very little work programmed.
