Sky i think for sports and movies0

Depends what you want from them.
Basic TV or more?
Sky you own the equipment Virgin you lease it from them but it remains theirs0 -
For basic TV, neither. Freesat or Freview will do the job. If you want specialist subscription channels, then pick accordingly. No free lunch, and no free laptop

which one is actually good value for money?
Neither. You get a couple of channels with original content on then dozens of others reshowing the original content usually with a lag of a few months or so. For example, "wheeler dealers" which was on Discovery Home and Leisure has now made it onto other Discovery channels.
Save your money and get a freeview or freesat PVR box.0 -
Yea freesat PVR box may be best for value0

Virgin.
Reason I say this is because Sky knocked on my door, saying he could save me a tenner a week on my virgin XL TV/20mb broadband and Unlimted all day telephone, and he could...but it meant I lost half my channels as I'd only save money by buying certain entertainment packages.
And I phoned Virgin that day and got a free HD V+ box as I have the XL package. All on a special deal which I'll renew when the years up.
And it wasn't a tenner a week I would save, it was about £2 a month.Payment a day challenge: £236.69
Jan Shopping Challenge: £202.09/£250
Frugal Living Challenge: £534.64/150000 -
Virgin for the simple reason of On Demand. The only things I watch live now sport. If you go XL tv you get ESPN.0

I'm really interested in this debate, also but for different reasons. Keep the info coming guys!
Which is best?
Is V+ as easy as Sky+ to use? Is it better?
What's the HD like on both? Is it worth the £10?
Which is better for all 3 bundle?
How reliable is Sky broadband (I have Virgin broadband which is great!)?
I'm really confused as to what to do! I move in on Friday (I notice there's a dish on the wall and already has cable) but I'm not sure if I should get all 3 from one or a combination. Any help really appreciated.I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.
