Hi,

I'm also getting married 20th August 2011! Getting married at the Brig O Doon Hotel in Ayrshire.

So far have venue book, band booked and have just organised photographer!! Thinking next thing to organise will be dresses for bridesmaids!

has anyone sorted out wedding stationery yet? is that something that needs to be sorted out early or would do for a while? everything i've looked at seems to end up quite expensive! x

I couldnt find a August 2011 thread so I started one this afternoon, but now I have found this one, I will stay here!! :j

I am getting married on the 20th August next year. I have my venue booked which is Simonstone Hall in Hawes North Yorkshire

Today I think I have found my photographer! I posted on the photography !!!!!! website as discussed on MSE and got loads of replies and think I have picked my fave at a good price :beer:

I would love to keep in touch with anyone else getting married in August to share ideas etc.

I think we should just stick to this thread, as there we have now found lots of others getting married in August (I thought it was just the 2 of us )

Anyway so far I have booked a venue time and date. I have sorted the registrar, I kinda know what colours I am having for the theme. I am having 2 bridesmaids, one who is my best friend, and the other who is my OH neice who will be 9. I bought her dress off ebay the other day. At 12.99 I couldnt resist!! If it doesnt fit next year I can always resell!
We are off the talk to a florist on Saturday to get some ideas, and hopefully a sample of my stationery is coming today. I have ordered a sample for me to then recreate as i cant afford £4 an invite!!

Has anyone else thought about their theme/colours, if so what are you going for? Im going for something a bit different which is Navy Blue and Orange! Main things that will be orange are the flowers and table decs, bridesmaid will be in Navy and the boys suits will also be Navy

Booked the venue today, so in exactly one year and 7 minutes I'll be walking into the gardens of the Melvich Hotel on the north coast of Scotland

Hope I'm okay to gatecrash the party Getting married on Sat 27th August 2011 at 3.15pm - Humanist Ceremony (which are legal in Scotland - only saying that as I've even got friends saying "are you sure that's legal and will you ACTUALLY be married" :cool:).....don't seem to be as organised as many of you and now thinking I need to pull finger out!!! Ceremony being held at same hotel as the reception, that's all booked. Celebrant booked - saw photographers yesterday and today so that's "Pending"!!! That's it so far......glad to be on board and looking forward to getting to know you all.

We're having a humanist celebrant as well And possibly a Druid friend to do a blessing afterwards, but I haven't asked him yet. The hotel made the excellent suggestion of having a wedding barbecue instead of a sit down meal or buffet - they've got an enormous Beastmaster grill and will fire it up and serve food between 6pm and 11pm for guests to just go and help themselves. To help keep costs down, we'll be raising an extra pig next year and providing pork and apple burgers and sausages ourselves - is this the strangest MSE wedding tip ever???

Hi all!!! I am getting married on 27th August 2011 at 1pm. We are having a church ceremony and then our reception is at Chilworth Manor in Southampton.

I am very excited but it seems so far away!

So far we have booked the church and the reception venue. I have also ordered my dress which is a stunning Maggie dress and I cannot wait to wear it.

Our photographs are going to be done by h2bs brothers girlfriend. She has done a photography course and has a professional camera etc so we are hoping that she will do us proud. Slightly worried about not having a professional photographer but we can't really afford one. I hope we don't regret this decision.

I am having 2 bridesmaids, my two best friends and I have decided on a colour scheme.

Done lots of research into other stuff but not booked anything else yet as we are also trying to by a house which is proving to stressful in itself!!!

Looking forward to doing some more wedding prep after we have moved but I am shocked at how expensive everything is!

Really need to get some flower quotes because I really have no idea what to expect from this.

Definitely need to mse in some areas so love reading this forum for some inspiration.
