  • Congrats on getting things sorted everyone! We too are struggling with choosing music/readings and have to have it done by the end of the month. Just bought a CD from Vitamin String Quartet - hoping that I will be able to find all of the music on there!

giddypenguin - I'm getting married a week after you and haven't even had my first dress fitting yet!! I'm going on the 26th. Presumably they take all of the measurements and then you go back for the final fitting once alterations have been made, and that's the appointment you're worried about?? i think you've got ages - the shop will know your wedding date so will have it back to you in plenty of time, surely?? oh no, now you're making me worry!!!

My veil hasn't arrived and my jacket has arrived in the wrong size :s

Also need to finalise table decs, evening numbers etc. But we've got ages, right??? RIGHT???!!!

    Hey giddypenguin

I'm going to be measured next Monday and then the final dress fitting is not until 15th July. The seamstress told me to allow 3 weeks, if that helps. Then I thought I'd leave a couple of weeks for emergency slimming / eating :rotfl: My wedding is on August 6th.

We've still got loads to do.... aaargh!!

ETA: Right Trying 2b good! I certainly hope so, feeling way behind.

GiddyPenguin - my seamstress is separate to shop I bought my dress from and I had lots of problems with the shop so when when my address arrived a few months ago I picked it up and room it to seamstress next week who worked out the alterations needed and now I am going back on saturday to try it on and make sure all ok and that way if anymore changes are needed there is still plenty of time. Sure yours will be fine as each seamstress is different and will depend in the hours they work and how busy they are.

Have you all had your final dress fitting? I haven't yet, and am beginning to worry - how long to alterations take?

I don't have my first one until July 13th!! (Wedding August 13th).

Thanks guys - I got my dress from bertex bride and they said the dress would arrive in June and then I would have my final fitting and alterations would be done based on that - it's mid June now and I've not heard anything and so I was beginning to worry - maybe if I've not heard anything in a week I'll phone them.

I've got another meeting with the hotel coming up for food tasting and other things, so exciting. However, I do just wish this would all hurry up. I don't really care about the day, what colour the napkins are, what songs are played... I just want to say "I will" be around people I truely love and then jet away for 2 weeks with my favourite person in the world.

I haven't had my first dress fitting and I am panicking like mad because it doesn't fit. When I ordered it the sample dress fit like a glove I went back at christmas to try it on because I was having doubts about it thankfully when I put it on I still loved it but she had a handful of fabric at the back and it was massively too big and I think when I go back it is going to be even bigger. Ahh >.<

I get married on 15th august and ours is a very low key design.

I feel stressed enough with people complaining its on a monday and then family squabbles about who is invited!

My dress is a bridesmaid dress bought from house of fraser - no alterations needed.

    wont be long now....

I just got a huge padded bra from Marks and Spencers today!! Needed a bit of help in the cleavage department :rotfl: I got measured there and the service was wonderful. Not sure it is at all branches but can recommend London Marble Arch. The lady spent half an hour putting me in different styles and I took pictures of my dress. Of course I was one of the million percent of women wearing the wrong size bra. Good excuse to buy a whole new set of underwear!

What are you all doing about shoes? I never wear high heels and don't want to start now. Would a pair of sandals be okay? Or just ballerina pumps?
