    Hi Lara44
You can wear what you like on your feet! My DD has gone for heels but she has also bought a pair of these

    H All

I'm getting married on the 27 August and would like to join in. Hd my first dress fitting last saturday and will have my next one on the 30 July.

@Lara44 - I've gone with a pair of trainers as I don't have 'normal' feet so can't find nice shoes to wear. At least this way I'll have comfortable feet all day and night although the dress people were slightly horrified to say the least :rotfl:

My dress fitting went well on Saturday, seamstress is going to take little bit more off the length and take it in again at the top. My third and final dress fitting will be on 11 August which is same day as two of my bridesmaids have their first dress fitting but couldn't do theirs any earlier as ordered the dresses and they are not due in until beginning of August.

weve been and given our notice at the town hall today - so now it seems a little more real.

Have 2 boys age 6 and 4 and the 4 year old told the registrar that he is wearing his batman outfit with a flower in, because if mummy can wear a dressing up outfit(!) then so can he!

Haha that is lovely Lindy. Kids say the best things :)

Well seen as nobody wants to make a bloody speech and I don't want to be the only one to do one my Grandma has suggested asking one of my uncles to make one on my brothers behalf as he is the page boy/best man/and he is giving me away but he is only 9 and is quite shy.

    Ahhh so cute Lindy!

Alioops, I bought flats in the end and my Mum was horrified. She asked the ladies at the bridal shop today if I was the first bride ever to have got married in flat shoes :rotfl:

You should go for it MissPixie. Or open the floor? My friend married a Norwegian guy and during speech time anyone can stand up and say a few words.

Flat shoes are not that bad! I was going to wear them because I have dodgy knees and me and OH are practically the same height so I don't want to be taller than him lol but I have heels for the ceremony and photos so my posture is nice I never stand up straight in flat shoes and then I am probably going to be wearing toms or something to that effect lol

Oh god no :P We are trying to restrain certain people from talking as they have caused enough trouble which is making it really hard with things like speeches

my shoes are BHS wedding shoes and have a bout an inch heel.

Im 5 ft and OH is 6ft2" so heels wont help and I cant see myself doing the walk to the restaurant (6 or 7 mins away) elegantly in heels!

  • I've tried on millions of pairs of shoes, bought 4 pairs and taken 3 back! Finally, I've settled on these - got them from John Lewis on a 20% off event.

Had my dress fitting yesterday - I still like it! :T:T i was worried about that! And she's told me I can't lose any weight now - so I'm happily going to use that as an excuse not to do much exercise (although still trying to lose bingo wings).

Have chosen vows, music for the ceremony, and readings - sending off with cheque to Registry Office today :)

Hi everyone hope the planning is going well, the time is flying isn't it! My dress finally came to the shop on saturday and I had my first fitting and like you trying_2_b_good I still love cos i was starting to worry as the last time I saw it was 18 weeks ago when i ordered it! Mine has got to be taken in a bit then i have my final fitting on the 2nd of August. Just before we go to America for two weeks (i know i'm doing the whole wedding, honeymoon thing back to front!) so I think i could do with losing a few lbs so I can enjoy a couple of buffets in vegas without compromising the fitting of my dress! I think we are nearly there with the rest of the planning just struggling to decide on what flowers to have in the table centres but other than that everything else is pretty much sorted unless i've forgot something!
