Hang onto it as long as you like mate, you certainly won't be able to put it down once you start!! Not sure how much of Paris you will see if you take it with you though :rotfl:

None hopefully. In true MSE stylee, I'm not planning on leaving the hotel room as I'll just spend money otherwise!! I saw some of it last time I went, and I'm on my own this time too so I need a good book or 3. :p
  • I have never been so relieved to see my wages in my account!! Now I just have to be patient and let everything get paid out before I can pad the rest and try to get the first cc paid off. I really really really want it paid this payday if at all possible. Selling a few bits on ebay and found I could redeem some cashback money so hopefully this will all help.
  • Ok, I just checked my remaining bank balance after transferring money etc etc and getting all the budgeting out of the way and I'm excited to see that what I should have left according to my fabulous spreadsheet, is only a few pence out of what is actually left!! Usually I still end up frittering away a bit here and there but for the first time it's almost spot on!!

I'm a bit disappointed today as I was really hoping to be under 10k when my min payments had cleared. I'm really close now though so I'm hoping I get there before next payday. If not, I definitely will be next payday and before my birthday.

I'm visiting home for a couple of days and this morning I nearly forgot where I was when I woke up! I haven't been home since Christmas so it's been a while. Finally having a roast dinner I've been craving for weeks today and hoping to catch up with a couple of people while I'm here.

Edit - forgot to say I'm currently get very frustrated with not being able to buy any clothes. I'm tired of my old stuff, and living in jeans and t-shirts. There are so many nice things I want right now and it's making me miserable. But it's good I'm learning the pitfalls of 'instant gratification' and haven't actually bought these things yet, no matter how tempted I feel. Bl00dy tough though.

never mind you'll get there soon enough!

Hope you enjoy your roast! yum!
  • Once the payments clear, I think I have just paid off my first credit card!! Doesn't feel as good as it should yet though, I'm getting impatient to get everything paid off. I'm going to keep it open for a bit as well, just for major emegencies as I have no savings I can use if anything crops up. Not sure what will count as a major emergency but let's hope I don't have to find out!
  • So it's not very MSE but I've just bet on the Grand National tomorrow. Only a fiver so if I don't win, it's not a huge loss. Impatiently waiting for the payments as mentioned above to clear so I can see if it's really paid off. Started the pads to the next cc today. Now packing to go back home and it sucks. Feeling very lazy today!

Best of luck on the Grand National - a little windfall would come in handy for you.

    best wishes
    Nan
  • Thanks Nan.... I did win!! But only bet 50p so won £13.50... still that means I'm £8.50 up overall. Just wish I bet more, but then thats how it starts, spiralling down....

Really tired at the moment, all the time and getting sick of it. Makes me feel grumpy and unmotivated. Going to Paris tomorrow to work, which is also annoying as I can't be bothered to pack and it's so much harder working away from Stansted, but at least it's only a couple of days.

My balance cleared this morning as 0 on my first cc, but don't feel as pleased with myself as I should do. I think I'm starting to pressure myself to get the rest paid off and obsessing slightly.

Hey Psychopathbabble, i think your diary reads really well, and sounds like your doing great and i'd be really proud if i was you to get one down....And looking at your signature it does say 10k by May so wouldn't be to far from your target??How many other cards do you have to pay off? Are they on the best balance transfers available, now you've cleared off that CC they may be offering you a balance transfer to keep your custom?
